DMVlive Day 1 Standouts Part 1

Here is part 1 of the standouts from the first day of session 2 at DMVive 2.    [player_tooltip player_id='1782690' first='Silas' last='Devonish'] broke out two years ago at DMVlive, and what he did that weekend was one of the more extraordinary things I've seen from someone not in high school at this event. Silas struggled for Bishop Ireton in their first session but performed much better today. Silas's speed, scoring, and passing were displayed in Ireton's rout over McDonough. He followed that up with 19 points and 9 assists in Ireton's second game against Christ School.     [player_tooltip player_id='1782688' first='Khaliq' last='Carson'] didn't have a great scoring game against McDonough in Ireton's first game. Khaliq did everything else in this game. His facilitating, rebounding, and defending were all at a high level. Khaliq was one of the most impactful players on the court, and he only scored 3 points. He finished with 10 rebounds, 7 assists, and 5 steals.     [player_tooltip player_id='2715192' first='Nash' last='Avery'] was a guy who impressed me for Bishop Ireton in Session 1, and he was excellent again against McDonough. Nash is long and athletic. He is a lob threat and is great in transition. Nash is consistent and efficient, and at 6'9 before entering high school, he has an incredibly bright future.     [player_tooltip player_id='1371868' first='Marlon' last='Williams'] had an excellent game for Loyola Blakefield against Lanham Christian. He knocked down a handful of spot-up looks and finished with 19 points. Marlon was a steady contributor for Loyola in the first DMVlive session, and I've wanted to shout him out. He's a great shooter and a high-IQ player.     [player_tooltip player_id='1782655' first='Prince' last='Moody'] had a big second half for Bishop McNamara. Moody has been one of the best guards in the four days of DMVlive. He's shown off everything from his passing to his ability as a 3-level scorer. Moody had 19 second-half points in a big McNamara second-half in their win over Christ School. Moody is great on both ends of the floor, scoring 21 points in this game. He also had 16 points and 6 assists in McNamara's second game of the day, which was a close win over Glenelg Country.     McNamara went on a big run in the second half of their game against Christ School mainly because of two players. I mentioned one in [player_tooltip player_id='1782655' first='Prince' last='Moody'], and the other was [player_tooltip player_id='1782660' first='Qayden' last='Samuels']. Qayden knocked down a handful of threes and hit a few off the dribble mid-ranges. Qayden is one of the best players in the DMV, and he showed that today. He's a complete offensive player and ended this game with 28 in a close win. He also had 18 against Glenelg Country later in the day.     Christ School big Zymicah Wilkins is a unique talent. Zymicah is ridiculously skilled in every facet offensively. He can shoot the ball and has excellent touch in the paint. He passes well and handles the ball. He had a few drives in their game against McNamara, which surprised me. He isn't super fast or an elite athlete, but it never seems to matter. He's in control and finds ways to get to the rim. He uses his body exceptionally well, and McNamara had no answer. He ended this game with an efficient 28 points and 8 rebounds. In Christ School's second game of the day, Zymicah had 17 points, 12 rebounds, and 5 blocks in a Christ School win.     George School guard Peyton Miller was outstanding in their win over Takoma Academy. George School's defense was fantastic, and Peyton was a big reason why. He's a very solid POA defender and had 5 steals in this one. Peyton made the game-winning free throws and finished with 20 points and 5 assists.
