Host CBA, Huntington, Bossier, Airline, state runner-up Red River, and a new look Captain Shreve all participated in today’s camp. Of course, there were some standout performances on the day from players on all teams from various classifications. In this team camp review, we will take a look at who a few of the standout preps were on the day.
Kevin White Kevin White 6'2" | CG Airline | 2026 State LA (Airline) – The point guard from Viking Drive went to school during team play on Saturday. He has taken his play to another level this summer showing how skilled a scorer and ball handler he is. White attacked the rim and finished with either hand. His man-to-man defense was excellent in the open court and the half court creating turnovers. Kevin showed a complete game that was incomparable today.
Kamren Clarkes Kamren Clarkes 5'11" | CG Captain Shreve | 2025 State LA (Captain Shreve) – The Gator senior displayed improved handles in the open floor handling the defensive pressure seen on the day. His man-to-man and team defense was excellent as well. He created turnovers in the open floor and the half court by his movement and sheer hustle. Offensively, Clarkes shot it well from three and made several key shots to help the Gators to victory. His experience definitely helped on the day.

Red River | 2026
LA
(Red River) – Smith played a high level game on both ends of the floor for Red River on the day. His big body was able to take punishment going to the rim and he also shot it well from three. On defense, Smith switched on all perimeter players and used his quick hands to steal the ball several times. His three level scoring in the half court and high level defense for Bulldogs was outstanding on this day.
Tonio Ambler-Barr Tonio Ambler-Barr 6'4" | SF Bossier | 2026 State LA (Bossier) – Ambler-Barr was highly impressive during Bossier’s early games on Saturday. He showed toughness crashing the boards on the offensive and defensive ends. His willingness to stick his nose in for tie-ups and loose balls displayed aggression the Bearkats needed. Most impressive was his three point shooting. Ambler-Barr may be another weapon added to the Bossier arsenal this coming season.
E’Jayden McDonald E’Jayden McDonald 5'9" | PG Captain Shreve | 2026 State LA (Captain Shreve) – McDonald (aka JD) may have been the best defender on the floor throughout the day Saturday. His willingness to guard baseline to baseline was beautiful to watch. JD also was very good on the offensive end. His finishing ability and speed showed in his attacks downhill to the rim. McDonald’s willingness to play both ends at a high level was great to see on Saturday.

LA
(Calvary Baptist) – Hall made his debut with the Cavaliers on Saturday giving teams a taste of what is to come. Hall is a guard who believes in pushing the ball up the floor and catching defenses off guard. His ability to stop on a dime and pull up from the perimeter mixed with his accuracy is beautiful to watch. Hall also anticipates well on defense. His timely steals and deflections while trapping gave life to the Cavs defense.
Cameron Starks (Huntington) – The lefty guard gave the Raiders a spark from the wing position on Saturday. He displayed an ability to get his shoulders past defenders and quickly advanced to the rim. Starks also showed his shooting acumen by nailing threes from the wing. He kept defenders off balance all day and showed he is a guard with a wealth of ability.
Others who impressed
Tyrone Jamison Tyrone Jamison 6'2" | CG Calvary Baptist | 2027 State LA (Calvary Baptist) – The 2027 number one player showed his trademark mid-range pull up and more of his passing ability on the day. His open floor play showed his finishing ability also.

(Bossier) – Dean-Woods can handle, score from all three levels, and defend at the rim. All of this tantalizing ability was on display in spurts Saturday.

LA
(Huntington) – Silky shooter who can make jumpers from anywhere on the floor. He put the ball on the deck more than I have seen on Saturday displaying a willingness to penetrate.
Jeremiah Ford Jeremiah Ford 6'4" | PF Captain Shreve | 2026 State LA (Captain Shreve) – His defense at the rim and willingness to bang with other post players was impressive. Ford ran the floor well and helped facilitate the offense with passes out of the post. Probably needs to look to score in the paint more.
I am sure we will see these players, and others, as the month of June progresses. With numerous team camps and summer weekend sessions on the horizon, these teams will get a ton of play in.
