<p>June 6th-8th I attended the 17th annual <strong>Best in Basketball Summer Invitational </strong>at Mesquite HS in Gilbert/AZ. There were 24 teams playing in five showcase type of games over the three days. </p>

<p>A physical and skilled wing forward. He has high skill level to score with euros down the lane, put backs in traffic, quick jab step and will rise up, drop steps into a layup, mid-range jumpers and catch threes. He has almost an old school game and brings toughness and huge confidence. </p>

<p>A thick power forward with strength and skill. He will score with drop steps using his left or right hand. He has elite hands with a strong base with good feet. He had multiple and-1's in heavy traffic and seems to rebound anything in the paint. He uses his big mitts to clean the glass and catch tough passes inside to score.</p>

<p>A fluid power forward is cashing in with the new offense. It seems to be more forward centric and Luke is a big part of that. He scores with dribble drives in traffic with contact and seems to bounce off of it. He is a plus rebounder and will quickly score on put backs. He rips thru and scores and can face up to the perimeter. </p>

<p>An athletic scoring guard will score will quick blow by's getting downhill in traffic. He can handle the contact with his frame and will even post up showing a physical approach to the game. He defends nearly every position on the floor for the Roadrunners and rebounds well. </p>

<p>A strong point forward type who can defend nearly every position and score. He scores with catch threes, he will rise up from mid-range, he can crossover into a jumper and blow by his defender into a layup. On defense he gets deflections, collects steals, block shots and rebounds in his area. He is a good passer up the court and will drive and kick it. </p>

<p>A scoring point guard has advanced court vision and can slip in passes and thread the needle. He scores with tough drive layups with a burst to the basket. He smartly plays off of two feet and makes the play or shoots it. He can shoot it from mid to the three and usually takes care of the ball. </p>

<p>A long and taller scoring guard is a good passer and plays with a motor. He makes smart reads to his teammates and is long in the passing lanes to collect steals. He will throw it down on the break and hit the catch three in bunches. He attacks the glass and will score on put backs with good energy. </p>

<p>A highly skilled combo guard can put up points quickly. He has deep range from the parking lot with a super quick trigger. His athleticism is definitely coming in, as he had one incredible block off the glass. He brings a real scoring option and spaces the floor for his teammates. </p>

<p>A strong power forward with great hands to score around the basket and handles the ball well for position. He uses his massive hands to catch passes and he is a very good passer to find the open man when he often gets double teamed. He is a quick second jumper and scores thru traffic and uses his strength and post footwork. He has a big bag of runners, floaters, put backs and had multiple and-1's in traffic. He is easily the most difficult player to match up with in 1A. </p>

<p>A scoring PG can put the ball in the basket quickly. He will catch and shoot or pull-up off the dribble with range beyond the three point line. He is a good passer and competes on defense. He will get on the glass and can score inside with high arcing shots. He cuts without the ball and is quick off the dribble to get to the basket or get fouled. He is a sneaky good passer and him and Smith Jr form a tough 1-2 punch. </p>
