It's another impressive group of guards in New England, full of prospects that can play both as the primary ball-handler or as a primary scorer in the back-court. There are 17 ranked prospects listed as Combo Guards in our latest update and each could probably make the arguement that they are a true lead guard or a pure scoring guard; thus, they appear here. This is a position that accounts for some of the region's top stock risers this spring and has college prospects from top to bottom.

Below, we'll take a look at six Combo Guards that stood out in our latest rankings update.

THE TOP 3

The top ranked Combo Guard in the class is [player_tooltip player_id='2396716' first='Alex' last='Wilkins'] (#1), who has had a terrific spring campaign with the Middlesex Magic on the UAA circuit. Wilkins is a big guard with great length; at 6'5", he has the ability to see over the defense and makes great decisions with the ball in ball screen actions. He's a capable scorer and, maybe most impressively, is a terrific, multi-positional defender. He's earned scholarship offers from a handful of Division I schools this spring and could see his stock rise nationally this summer.

[player_tooltip player_id='2396736' first='Tony' last='Williams'] checks in at #2 in our positional rankings. Better known as "Butta", Williams has been phenomenal playing with the New Havent Heat on the independent circuit this spring. He's got a quick first step, an elite ability to handle the ball in traffic, and can really score when called upon. He's done a lot of winning this year, both at the prep level and on the travel circuit, and has distinguished himself as a recruit that does whatever it takes for the team to succeed. He's another scholarship prospect that's earned multiple offers this spring.

Running with RI Elite on the Puma Pro16 circuit, [player_tooltip player_id='2325762' first='Yancarlos' last='Cueto'] has solidified himself at #3 in our Combo Guard rankings. Another big guard with great positional size, Cueto's seperator skill right now is his ability to knock down shots from behind the arc. He's tough off the bounce, takes care of the ball while limiting turnovers, and has really proven himself as a lock-down defender this spring. He's definitely on scholarship watch and should have a big following this summer.

3 TO WATCH

[player_tooltip player_id='1529126' first='Jamari' last='Robinson'], who had an All-NEPSAC type season at Belmont Hill this winter, comes in at #4 in these positional rankings. The quick twitch athlete has a great physical profile, with longs arms and next level athleticism. He's tough to contain in transition, has a lightning quick first step off the bounce, and is one of the better help defenders in the region, generating a high number of steals and deflections. He's profiles as a scholarship level guard that has immense defensive upside at the next level.

A floor general for Team New England Basketball Club, [player_tooltip player_id='1532416' first='Christopher' last='Bianco'] claims the #11 spot. Closer to a true floor general, Bianco has had an exceptional spring, leading his team to win after win after win. He's a quality shooter from the perimeter, but stands out as someone who can direct an offense, make good decisions, and rarely turn the ball over. He's team first and does whatever it takes to win, which doesn't always show up in the box score. He's a guard that should have wide ranging interest throughout New England by the end of the summer.

[player_tooltip player_id='1532448' first='Marquis' last='White'], who plays his travel ball for the Middlesex Magic, holds the #15 spot in our latest update for the Combo Guards. Another guard who potentially could claim lead guard status, White is a terrific playmaker who can play uptempo or run an offense in the half-court. He does a great job of changing speeds off the bounce, makes some high level passes, and is a terrific on-ball defender that can guard all 94'. He'll be a priority recruit for D3's in New England this summer and could play his way into scholarship consideration.
