Whenever you make a change at the top of your list it’s always notable. Thompson’s improvement from 12 months ago to today was way too strong to ignore. Growing a couple inches, continuing to add to his wingspan, Thompson was a raw prospect figuring out how to impact the game at this time last year. Fast forward to this month and Thompson looks like one of the best long-term prospects on the 3SSB circuit. One of the youngest players in Ohio’s 2026 class, Thompson still has a few months till he turns 16 years old. A true two-way wing, Thompson’s length gives him a high release on spot-up 3-pointers and also allows him to block shots at the rim and on the perimeter. Already making a strong impact, Thompson is a prospect who will be better later as he continues to develop physically. It seems like since the start of 2024 Thompson has turned a corner and we think there’s no turning back. Currently, Thompson is ranked on Prep Hoops Ohio, Made Hoops and ON3, expect him to debut on national rankings lists like 247, Rivals and ESPN before summer is over.

Bowens was a stock riser from his play at the first EYBL Session in Memphis where he helped All Ohio 16 U get three tough wins on the circuit. We discussed how he impacted the game at a high level not too long ago but Bowens currently holds offers from MAC programs Toledo, Ohio and Eastern Michigan. When two of the top local mid major programs offer you in the middle of your sophomore year of high school, that tells me you are a priority recruit to those schools already. I’d be surprised if more programs don’t offer Bowens by the time July rolls around.
I went probably almost an entire calendar year without watching Albers on the hardwood and was excited to get the chance to see him again with All Ohio Red 16 U down in Memphis a couple weeks ago. I thought Albers had done some nice work on his body, growing a couple inches, slimming out and showing quicker feet. Getting Division I interest in both football and basketball, Albers is a unique recruit who will likely draw interest for both sports until he makes an official decision on what sport he wants to focus on at the next level. One of the top small-town prospects in Ohio’s 2026 class on the gridiron and the hardwood, Albers will be a household name soon if he isn’t one already.

A player we scouted at Pitt Jamfest with a very talented Midwest Basketball Club Gold 16 U squad, Carruthers moves up our rankings after a strong start to his spring. A player who will be better later, Carruthers is starting to flash some perimeter ability. A name to know in NW Ohio, Carruthers could be one of the most improved players in the region from last year to next at the high school level.
