Spring Review: Up and Coming High Energy Guards

These are a few high energy guards throughout the spring, competing every possession for their programs.    A well rounded guard from the offensive end, Nanez has already commanded a consistent role from ABC at the 15U level. A skilled ball handler who is adept at changing speeds, he makes up for young age with high level skill. Active from all three levels, the guard has shown plenty of shotmaking off the bounce. A threat contributing floaters while in traffic, already dependable on such attempts with the right hand. On the secondary break, Nanez has shown consistency while stepping into three point attempts, not fazed by the incoming contest. While attacking the rim, the 2028 guard can change gears quickly, getting to a crossover and exploding past a stationary defender. Defensively, Nanez possesses quick instincts either in passing lanes or at the point of attack. Adept at reading opponents who telegraph passing opportunities, the guard is quick to intercept such passes in space.     Duda remains a high motor defensive pest, quick to take away space at the point of attack. Bringing active hands and feet, he truly makes the most of abilities against backcourt opponents. He is one of those guards who is truly comfortable making decisions at full speed. A dependable finisher around the rim through pressure, he makes the most of tight angles around the rim. Effective making reads out of ball screens or attacking a likesize matchup head on, Duda remains a valuable backcourt prospect for Espanola Valley throughout the coming seasons.     Zamora continues to be an impactful lead guard thanks to his quick instincts on the defensive end and skill handling the ball. Adept making the right read off of a ball screen or while breaking a press, he is a dependable lead guard, just like his time at Saint Pius X. Becoming more willing to attempt three point shots, off the catch or the dribble, the guard is certainly adding to his toolbox with the options with his jump shot. He remains a key playmaker for their 16u group, adding high energy with the ball. Active pushing the pace in transition, he is often among the first down the floor or facilitating an outlet opportunity.     Vega has routinely provided floor spacing back through the previous high school season and through club ball with [program_tooltip program_id='2075730' first='New' last='Mexico D1']. Capable off the catch, he remains a knockdown along the wings and corners, not fazed versus incoming contests. With a long frame, the guard has been impactful within the passing lanes, actively stifling those opportunities. His proactive approach on that end creates plenty of deflections, spurring fast breaks not too long afterwards.     Satchivi remains one of the premier names in the 2026 class, a dynamic scorer with the ball in his hands. Consisently making the right decision versus tight pressure, opponents often have trouble speeding him up into an out of control pace. Just like his opportunities at Del Norte, Satchivi has been a proactive perimeter defender throughout the Spring.
