Evan Nanez showcased his creativity and shot making ability in ABC Prep’s game against Super Elite. His change of pace and direction helped him get to his spots and shake his defenders. Once he had time and room, he let it go and hit more than a few long range shots. I was also surprised to find out that he’s only a freshman, as he played with a ton of confidence.

A skilled ball handler who is adept at changing speeds, he makes up for young age with high level skill. Active from all three levels, the guard has shown plenty of shotmaking off the bounce. A threat contributing floaters while in traffic, already dependable on such attempts with the right hand. On the secondary break, Nanez has shown consistency while stepping into three point attempts, not fazed by the incoming contest. While attacking the rim, the 2028 guard can change gears quickly, getting to a crossover and exploding past a stationary defender. Defensively, Nanez possesses quick instincts either in passing lanes or at the point of attack. Adept at reading opponents who telegraph passing opportunities, the guard is quick to intercept such passes in space.
