is a strong, physical point guard who embraces contact and consistently pressures the paint. He uses his downhill ability not only to score but to collapse defenses and create opportunities for teammates. His paint touches serve as a catalyst for ball movement and offensive flow.
This weekend, he effectively dictated the pace of play and maintained composure under defensive pressure. Evan rarely appeared rushed or out of control, regardless of the defensive looks he faced. His court vision and decision-making helped his team handle pressure and stay organized offensively.
While he has the strength to finish through contact, he also demonstrated a soft shooting touch, showing balance between physicality and finesse. Evan is steady floor general who can control tempo, initiate offense, and apply consistent rim pressure. He had a highlight game winning shot during the weekend which helped his team end 2-0 on the weekend.

made a move up to the No. 2 spot after previously being ranked third. The ABC Prep point guard embodies what it means to run a team effectively. Nanez has excellent court vision and rarely forces plays that aren’t there. His ability to control tempo, see passing lanes develop, and create opportunities for teammates separates him from most young guards. With two D1 offers already, Nanez has shown that he can balance scoring and facilitating at a high level. He’s a pure floor general who thrives on making the right play, whether that’s dropping a perfect pass in transition or pulling up for a jumper when the defense collapses. His leadership and unselfishness on the court make him one of the most reliable and trusted guards in the state.

Evan Nanez showcased his creativity and shot making ability in ABC Prep’s game against Super Elite. His change of pace and direction helped him get to his spots and shake his defenders. Once he had time and room, he let it go and hit more than a few long range shots. I was also surprised to find out that he’s only a freshman, as he played with a ton of confidence.

A well rounded guard from the offensive end, Nanez has already commanded a consistent role from ABC at the 15U level. A skilled ball handler who is adept at changing speeds, he makes up for young age with high level skill. Active from all three levels, the guard has shown plenty of shotmaking off the bounce. A threat contributing floaters while in traffic, already dependable on such attempts with the right hand. On the secondary break, Nanez has shown consistency while stepping into three point attempts, not fazed by the incoming contest. While attacking the rim, the 2028 guard can change gears quickly, getting to a crossover and exploding past a stationary defender. Defensively, Nanez possesses quick instincts either in passing lanes or at the point of attack. Adept at reading opponents who telegraph passing opportunities, the guard is quick to intercept such passes in space.
