It also serves as the unofficial demarcation between the spring grassroots season and the beginning of the June scholastic period. As we at Prep Hoops Indiana begin to prepare for the month of June, let’s take a look back at the spring and highlight some of the under-the-radar in the Class of 2027. These are prospects that have captured our attention and will start to shoot up our rankings heading into the upcoming scholastic period.
Morristown High School struggled this past season, but there still aren’t many freshmen in the state of Indiana that stepped in right away and led the varsity team in scoring. Crim did that averaging 10.8 points per game for the Yellow Jackets while connecting on 53 three-point shots. His strong play has continued into the spring with the Midwest Stars showcasing his skills at a couple of Prep Hoops Circuit events. As Crim continues to develop physically and grow he should really blossom into a player to watch. The skill level and shooting ability are already there.
A dynamic, left-handed guard from Taylor High School, Galloway was able to make an instant impact at the varsity level this past season. He averaged 7.8 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game for the Titans. Then, this spring, he has consistently been one of the standouts for a talented Team First City 2027 squad. The 6’1″ guard does an excellent job of creating his own shot showcasing a tight handle, great change of pace, and a well-rounded offensive skill set. Whether it is knocking in a tough jump shot or getting downhill to finish at the rim, Galloway always finds a way to put the ball in the basket.

This 5’11” guard has been a standout throughout the spring for Indiana Bucket Boys 2027. Litzlbauer is very hard to stay in front of off the dribble. He changes direction fluidly with the ball, displays good pace playing off of ballscreens, and is a creative finisher when he gets to the rim. There is obviously no shortage of talent coming through Ben Davis High School, but Litzlbauer is one to watch as he continues to develop.

Pieterek has had a great spring for Evansville Finest 2027. He is coming off of a weekend that saw him average 11 points per game at the Prep Hoops Indiana State Tournament including putting up 15 points in a narrow 66-62 loss to an excellent EG10 2027 team. The 5’10” guard is very crafty off the bounce with excellent ball handling ability and good overall playmaking chops. He is more than willing to set up his teammates while also having a knack for creating his own scoring opportunities. Pieterek is definitely one to keep an eye on coming out of Evansville North High School.

This Chesterton High School product has proven himself as one of the best shooters in Indiana’s Class of 2027 this spring. Ray plays alongside some very, very talented prospects for Indiana Game 2027 who have had an outstanding summer between the UA Rise and Prep Hoops circuits. The 5’11” guard is an excellent catch-and-shoot threat that spaces the floor well and is always ready to let it fly. As he develops physically and gets strong you can expect his game to really take off. There is a lot to like about the skill level that he possesses right now and is proving himself at a high level this spring.
