Assigned to cover to 17U Division— some prospects slipped through the cracks of my coverage. Consequently we’ll wrap up May by cleaning out the notebook with a list of additional top performers from the bracketed and deep event held over Memorial Day.
Danny Wolak Danny Wolak PG Davison | 2025 State MI 5-10 2025 Davison Suburban Flint area guard played well for a talented Midwest Flyers Club that had a good weekend (as you will see below) Not very big, but is an aggressive and assertive playmaker. Good ball handler and shooter with plenty of quickness as well. Plays with a regular season program that has an extremely deep backcourt rotation. So it was nice to see him get a chance to show off his skill set this past weekend.

6-5 2026 Portage Northern This is not a superlative column. However if it was, Lewis would get the nod for “ most potential”. Simply has all the physical tools needed to be a next level wing. Has a long, lean, and athletic frame. With accompanying burst and explosion. Covers a lot of space out in transition with long strides Will need to add more strength and assertiveness as he ages. However that is not uncommon for players with this profile. The potential is extremely high with this Kalamazoo area prospect.

. Well now they have a power wing to go along with Frantz. When I first saw Trudeau at a fall exposure showcase last year. He looked his age and not quite ready to contribute at the varsity level. My what a difference about nine months makes. Trudeau used his powerful frame to put pressure on the rim all weekend. Appeared to like contact and finished through it on multiple instances.

6-0 2026 Hudsonville Unity Christian (pictured) Sherd seemingly flies a little under the radar at times. Understandable as he plays for very deep programs in both the regular and grassroots seasons. Made excellent contributions for a Northcoast Premier squad that won the tournament championship in dominating fashion. Plays with bounce and explosion that younwould not expect from fist glance. Makes plays at the rim and has excellent lateral quickness. Makes him a plus defender who seems to have a nose for the ball. Good ball handler whose offense should improve within Crusaders disciplined system.

5-10 2027 Rochester Hills Lutheran Northwest The biggest eye catcher of the tournament for me. First time I saw him play. Came away thoroughly impressed. Showed the full lead guard package while playing up a grade level with a good Midwest Flyers squad. Already operated like a veteran in the two man game. Not very big but had a variety of step backs that helped him get his shot off. Also aided by a trigger quick release. The shot fell often and was fundamentally sound. Will need to get bigger and increase his burst to the rim. But there is a lot to work with already.
