May 3rd-5th I attended the annual Bash in the Desert at the Phhacility and Valley Vista HS locations. It had nearly 60 teams total and I watched 80% of all the teams to form a good opinion of the field.

I watched 20+ of the 25 17U teams and

Here is my All-Individual 7th Team for 17U:

These are a combination of teams performance combined with how the individual played.

[player_tooltip player_id='2432454' first='Sekou' last='Sackor'] Centennial ([program_tooltip program_id='2075793' first='Arizona' last='Select'] James 2025)

A fast lead guard is very quick and elusive. The lefty will drive and kick, he gets on the glass and plays the passing lanes. He plays really hard on both ends of the court. His lateral quickness is impressive and smartly cuts to get open shots. He is capable perimeter shooter and gets on the glass.

[player_tooltip player_id='2425368' first='Daquan' last='Slayton'] Northfield/CO (Morgan Dawgs)

A two-way scoring guard has a quick first step. He gets downhill and takes contact well to make tough shots in traffic. He is an out of area rebounder and a is a very good on-ball defender to rip some pockets. The unsigned senior plays with energy.

[player_tooltip player_id='2418555' first='Aaron' last='Hubbard'] Paradise Honors ([program_tooltip program_id='2301191' first='Team' last='Rise N Grind'] White 17)

A newcomer for me is very efficient in the paint. He has unusually long arms and is a very fluid athlete. He can hit the catch three and his best attribute currently is his length to block or alter shots. He moves well in space and the younger brother of [player_tooltip player_id='1274847' first='Adam' last='Hubbard'] shows upside.

[player_tooltip player_id='1580843' first='Jayden' last='Johnson'] Rancho Solano Prep ([program_tooltip program_id='2415446' first='Arizona' last='Grind'] Elite)

A high energy power forward keeps showing off his improving skill. He is making his catch three at a higher clip. He is still a warrior to rebound and score on put backs. He brings his hard hat to every game he plays.

[player_tooltip player_id='2432456' first='Lyle' last='Robinson'] Phhoenix Prep ([program_tooltip program_id='2075793' first='Arizona' last='Select'] 2025 Matthews)

A fluid bigger guard who can create his own space to get his shot off and shoot the three. He has great recovery time and will block a shot off the glass and has some athleticism which he uses on both ends of the court.

[player_tooltip player_id='1135901' first='Aiden' last='Dunne'] Liberty ([program_tooltip program_id='2091922' first='Hunter's' last='Elite'] National)

A high IQ and highly skilled scoring point guard who can score and make plays. He will ball fake into a layup or touch the paint and kick it to a teammate. He hit a clutch three to send a game into OT.

Isaiah Shurn SG 6'3 2025 Wylie/TX (Ballers Elite Academy 2025)

An athletic scoring guard can dunk it off of a back door cut. He is a quick second jumper and has good size for a guard. He will drive and kick it and scores it well in transition. He attacks off the dribble and brings natural bounce and energy to the court.

[player_tooltip player_id='2432465' first='Jayce' last='Underwood'] Phhoenix Prep ([program_tooltip program_id='2075793' first='Arizona' last='Select'] 2025 Matthews)

A scoring point guard is a natural lefty scorer. He has a nice three point shooting stroke and will outrace his opponents on the break to score. He is quick with the ball and the lefty will make tough shots in traffic. His initial burst to the basket is very tough to defend.

[player_tooltip player_id='1490908' first='Bobby' last='Rodriguez'] North Valley Christian Academy ([program_tooltip program_id='2415446' first='Arizona' last='Grind'] Elite)

A skilled and cerebral scoring point guard. He can score with mid-range pull-ups and is crafty around the basket. He can hit the three plus changes speeds to get downhill. He is one that definitely plays the game from the neck up.
