May 3rd-5th I attended the annual Bash in the Desert at the Phhacility and Valley Vista HS locations. It had nearly 60 teams total and I watched 80% of all the teams to form a good opinion of the field.

Here is my All-Individual 6th Team for 17U:

These are a combination of teams performance combined with how the individual played.

[player_tooltip player_id='2432452' first='Jaylen' last='Fulton'] San Tan Foothills ([program_tooltip program_id='2091922' first='Hunter's' last='Elite'] Regional) (Pictured)

A long and fluid wing can score it. He will create his own offense off the dribble from the three point line and can pull-up from mid-range. He is a good passer and was one of the better newcomers I viewed from AZ.

[player_tooltip player_id='1735336' first='Michael' last='Johnson'] Highland (East Valley Select)

A natural bucket getter for the Hawks. He plays the passing lanes that leads to scores in transition and can get downhill with his stronger frame then a year ago. He will shoot the three and pull-up from mid-range. He is a big part of the new young core and will be one of their leaders this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2291967' first='Kyle' last='Bogart'] Highland (East Valley Select)

A long and tall post player who is quickly improving. He brings some athleticism to the court to go along with his size and he makes it hard to score on him in the paint. He challenges his opponents and springs up quickly to alter or block shots. He will score around the basket effectively.

[player_tooltip player_id='1986845' first='Mason' last='Kendrick'] Arcadia (AZ Motion)

A skilled sophomore can rise up from mid-range, he hits the 3 and will post up. He rebounds the ball well for his size and runs the court. He can pull-up off the dribble from mid to the three point line and he should have a huge season for the Titans.

[player_tooltip player_id='1953640' first='Zane' last='Connelly'] Dysart ([program_tooltip program_id='2301191' first='Team' last='Rise N Grind'] Black)

A scoring point guard who is sneaky quick and changes speeds well. He will score on offensive rebound put back despite his size, pull-ups and threes. He has a good sense of awareness and a big IQ.

[player_tooltip player_id='1128215' first='Jason' last='Higgins'] Sunrise Mountain ([program_tooltip program_id='2301191' first='Team' last='Rise N Grind'] Black)

A power forward who will score on offensive rebound put backs and will grab balls out of his area with his strong hands and length. He utilizes a quick spin move to score with either hand and his drop step is improving as he ages.

[player_tooltip player_id='2412784' first='Teviyon' last='Jackson'] Canyon View ([program_tooltip program_id='2301191' first='Team' last='Rise N Grind'] White)

A wing forward is a talented lefty who can post up and fall away from mid post. He has a very quick release to not get his shot blocked. He is switchable defender on the post players and the guards. He plays the passing lanes well and will fight to gain position on the glass. He controls the painted area despite his size.

[player_tooltip player_id='2432447' first='Nico' last='Bojorquez'] Casteel ([program_tooltip program_id='2091922' first='Hunter's' last='Elite'] National)

A compact undersized scoring point guard is tough and skilled. He can hit the catch three and has a sneaky quick burst to get past his defenders to score on running layups. He moves the ball and makes the extra pass. He caught fire from the three point line in the game I viewed.
