2027 Rankings Update: Top Shooting Guards

One of the top scorers in the entire state this past season, Slone averaged 27 points per game for Johnson Central while shooting 54% from the floor. The scary thing for opponents is that Austin only shot 32% from three. As that number goes up, he may touch 30 points per game as a Sophomore next season.</li> <!-- /wp:list-item --></ul> <!-- /wp:list --> <!-- wp:list --> <ul><!-- wp:list-item --> <li>[player_tooltip player_id='2212469' first='Corey' last='Flinchum'] is another player who puts up big scoring numbers and he finished his freshman season averaging 21 points per game on an impressive 53/48/79 shooting split. Between his 8th grade season and his monster Freshman campaign, Corey is on track to score 3,000+ points for his career.</li> <!-- /wp:list-item --></ul> <!-- /wp:list --> <!-- wp:list --> <ul><!-- wp:list-item --> <li>[player_tooltip player_id='2326410' first='Armani' last='Byrd'] could be the next great Warren Central player. Coach Unseld is very, very high on Byrd's potential and the big guard just keeps growing. His game keeps growing as well. Armani could be the breakout name to watch in the 4th region next year as he has all the tools to be a big time player for the Dragons.</li> <!-- /wp:list-item --></ul> <!-- /wp:list --> <!-- wp:list --> <ul><!-- wp:list-item --> <li>Beth Haven's [player_tooltip player_id='1745595' first='Michael' last='Ray Stinnett'] could be the best pure shooter in Kentucky. Of his 292 shots taken last season, 237 were three pointers and Stinnett made them at a ridiculous 51% from deep. Michael Ray will need to continue developing the rest of his game, but there may not be a better shooter from range in the state.</li> <!-- /wp:list-item --></ul> <!-- /wp:list --> <!-- wp:list --> <ul><!-- wp:list-item --> <li>Owensboro Catholic's Dre'Mail Carothers is a two sport athlete who is one of the better all around prospects in the 3rd region in the 27 class. Carothers is a big time quarterback prospect but he can also impact winning on both ends of the basketball court as well. He's in line for a much bigger role as a Sophomore and could be a difference maker for the Aces next season.</li> <!-- /wp:list-item --></ul> <!-- /wp:list -->
