Below we dive into our Class of 2027 rankings and highlight several forward prospects who impressed us during their freshman high school season and then again on the April grassroots circuit.
College coaches need to keep an eye on these players during the May live period.
#7… Zion Green Zion Green 6'8" | PF Imhotep Charter | 2027 State PA – 6’8” / 2027 / Imhotep Charter / NJ Scholars EYBL / Small Forward: During his freshman campaign thiswiry stretch-4 received significant minutes for the 5A state champions. Green is athletic and runs the floor extremely well, so he is effective in the open court. Additionally, he can produce points off the bounce and via the offensive glass. His accurate jump shot with 3-point range will catch defenders by surprise. Green’s enormous wingspan combined with his hops and anticipation skills, enable him to serve as an intimidating rim protector. He holds an offer from UTEP.
#24… Jaydn Jenkins Jaydn Jenkins 6'8" | PF Archbishop Wood | 2027 State PA – 6’8″ / Archbishop Wood / Team Final EYBL / Power Forward: This past seasonJenkins was a reserveon a deep Wood roster, but his breakout came last month as he helped push Team Final to the Gym Rats Challenge 15U title. With his 7-foot wingspan, Jenkins redefines the term “long athlete”. That extreme length makes Jenkins a shot blocking and rebounding machine. His quick second jump enables Jenkins to deny multiple shot attempts in a row. On offense, Jenkins is most comfortable playing the dunker spot where he can catch drop passes and then finish with either hand. Jenkins can fill a lane on the fast break too.
#49… Tyler Royal Tyler Royal 6'7" | C Carlisle | 2027 State PA – 6’7″ / Carlisle / Team Durant EYBL / Power Forward: Royal is a traditional power forward who was a starter at Carlisle this past season. He can score in the low post over either shoulder, convert on lay-ins from the dunker spot and work the offensive glass for put backs. Royal is a smooth operator in pick-n-roll action too. With his length, athleticism, and bounce, Royal will not hesitate to finish with authority. On defense he is a fierce rim protector and plus rebounder.
#53… Daniel Gilhool Daniel Gilhool 6'9" | C Penn Charter | 2027 State PA – 6’9″ / 2027 / Penn Charter / Team Final EYBL / Power Forward: In 2023-24 Gilhool was a starter at Elizabethtown who averaged 6 points, 6 rebounds and 2 blocks per game as a freshman. He is a lefty stretch-4 prospect with a highly accurate 3-point shot (41% 3PM). Gilhool can also produce points on pick-n-roll sets, slashes to the rim and via the offensive glass. Gilhool is a fierce defensive rebounder too.
