Maurice Oglesby Jr
Maurice Oglesby Jr
Crafty ball-handling point guard who can score from all levels. Unfazed by driving to the basket and finishing over larger opponents. Drawing numerous fouls in the process. After reaching double figures in the first half, he displayed some solid distribution in the 2nd half. Led all scorers with 19 in a close loss

Joliet Catholic product made it rain in the second half this morning vs IBA. Drilling deep shots to further expand on an H4H lead. His speed up the floor is also impressive with excellent ball control. Came through at the end of the game and buried some clutch free throws to secure the win.
6’1” PG shined in the first half with 16 points and 8 FGM. A mixture of the interior and midrange. Really strong fadeaway jumper closed out the opening half. In addition to his scoring abilities, his footwork was on-point. Really helped him create space off the dribble, allowing him to score at a higher clip. Got guys involved as a passer later on. A 3-pointer in the final seconds allowed him to finish with 25 pts.
Highlights
Top-25 player in Kentucky. Really impressed with his 6’9” size. Involved heavily in the first half vs E3. Cleaning up the glass on both ends, converting second chance points, and making difficult shots inside look easy. Separated himself for some more easy buckets in the 2nd half. Even involved in the fast break. I also caught a little of their next game, where he had several blocks and was a defensive force in the paint.
Highlights
Displayed some outstanding distribution skills this morning vs E3. At least 6-7 assists I saw. Really got it done in transition, too. As the game went on, he started to take it himself inside. Added a euro-step finish driving baseline in addition to a put-back finish crashing the glass.
Ended with 22 pts to lead all scorers on Mavs Elite vs Lockdown. I didn’t see much of this game. But any 22-point showing in a tight win is worth noting. Buried a pair of three throws to help secure the win. The Mavs went 2-0 this afternoon.

Really intrigued me with his quickness on the floor as well as his ability to break off defenders. After falling behind 15 early, Phillips didn’t back down. Scoring 10 quick points to make it a contest. Extended his range for a 3-pointer early in the second half to cut the deficit to 3. They took the lead in no-time after a pair of transition takes and some free throws. Finished with 28 points, and did this playing up a year.
No true individual standout in their game vs Illinois Jaguars . But I saw him do some noteworthy stuff that gauged my attention. Crafty ball-handler and broke past numerous double teams while also letting it fly from outside. He’s only 5’5” right now, but is definitely still growing and is a name to look out for i Indiana’s 2027 class.
Strong, Versatile 6’6” F for MW Stars. Converted an and-one earlier in the game. Worked well off the pick and roll to free himself and his teammates up. Even picking up several assists. Created a pair of second-chance buckets in the 2nd half. Challenged IL Jaguars on the low block. Stronger than most PF’s i’ve seen at his age.
