A “Stock Riser” typically refers to a situation where the value/ranking of a player increases significantly over a short period, causing a player’s ranking to rise. It is a term often used in financial markets to describe stocks that experience substantial gains. In this case, we are talking about basketball players! The increase in stock is due to various factors such as exceptional play, an impressive post-season run, increased production, positive reports from scouts/coaches, and an optimistic future.
MR3 was First Team All-State & averaged 23.8 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 4.7 apg. The Thorpes won 22 games & finished 6th at the State Tournament. Marvin can do it all on the court & he has every skill. This season he shot 37% from beyond 3 & 89% from the charity stripe. He is a strong guard but he can make finesse plays. His pull-up J is great & he is a phenomenal finisher.
He had a nice school season for the Patriots. Sam played JV & he got his feet wet on varsity. LHS has a new HC, so it will be interesting to see how Sam fits in next year. We are expecting a big junior season! Everyone agrees that Sam is a major shooting threat. He is a southpaw, should be considered 1 of the top 3pt shooters in SD, and is also extremely coachable.
Easily a D1 athlete, he can jump up and hit his head on the rim! Jhace had a quality school season for WHS. He is a very tough defender and a super-high percent shooter inside the arc. Woods averaged 10.8 ppg, 5.4 rpg & shot 62.1 FG%. Jhace is dangerous slasher, but also makes plays as a cutter & from the block. Lockdown D! Potential & upside are through the roof.
He cut his teeth on varsity this season and Kuhl looked good. Will has game changing length and he can score the rock from every level. I saw him shoot it well from 3 this winter. I like his skill level & moves around the basket, we can expect that to keep improving. Kuhl just oozes potential and he will be an extra-scary player as his toughness & strength upgrade.
Highlights
Breakout season, went to State & was named Honorable Mention All-State & 2nd Team All-Conference. Averaged 17.7 ppg, 6.8 rpg, 3.6 apg. Trey made 130+ FT’s & shot 80% from the line. I admire players that can get to the line that often! High hoops IQ, leader, multi-sport stud (golf/bball/baseball). Talented golfer on the team who won back-to-back State Crowns.
Key player for the Chargers who won State A Championship! Jackson averaged 9.9 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 2.2 apg, 53.4 FG%, and an impressive 71.7 eFG%. What really impressed me was Jackson’s 3FG% at 51.3! It is easy to call this kid a SNIPER. Played great perimeter D & is a legit lockdown guy. Wadsworth is off to a nice start to the AAU season & will continue to make noise.
He was an important role player for the State Qualifying Tigers who won 20 games this season. I have heard nothing but positive reports on Ryder and he has looked good on film. Johnson came to the Spring Exposure event in Fargo and he exceeded my expectations. Longer than I realized, good skills & I like his feeling for the game. Ryder is an all-around dude.
He got good varsity burn & experience this season. He is long and a gifted/talented athlete. Musser is mobile and he brings a large amount playmaking to the floor. I will not be surprised if Teegan is a breakout baller next winter. He is a dynamic slasher and his floater-game is noteworthy. Musser is impressive as rim protector & could still add inches to his height.
He has intriguing length! Artz is slim and will need to add weight/muscle but he has what you can’t teach and that is height. Kellen Artz Kellen Artz 6’9″ | PF Baltic | 2026 State SD veraged 8.5 ppg, 7.6 rpg, 2 apg, and shot 53.6 FG%. He helped the Bulldogs to one of the best seasons in their recent history. Can get up & WHAM in traffic, does good work as rim-protector/shot-changer. Produces on the block.
Highlights
He was the second leading scorer for the Knights. Becker averaged 12 ppg and led the team in 3’s made, assists, and steals. Bosma is also a productive rebounder. He looks to have a complete game and certainly has the size/talent to play at the next level. I was impressed w/ Becker at the Spring Exposure event in March, certainly passed the eye test as a playmaker.
