After getting things underway on Friday night, we were back in the gym for about 14 hours on Saturday at the Romeoville Athletic Center for the Prep Hoops Chi-Town Tip Off. This annual event always draws an excellent group of teams as they begin to tune up for their full spring and summer schedules of grassroots basketball. As always, our Prep Hoops staff had boots on the ground to provide unparalleled coverage throughout the day. Now that we are out of the gym let's empty out the notebook and get into what we saw on Saturday.

We got off to a bit of a slow start at the Romeoville Athletic Center as the officials showed up very late to the 8:00 a.m. games (the 8:00 a.m. crew was otherwise in attendance though). However, once play got underway, William See (Glenbard South H.S. 2027) wasted no time getting hot from beyond the arc. The 6'0" guard for [program_tooltip program_id='2075314' first='Big' last='3 Basketball'] Dixon 2027 poured in three three-point shots in the first 10 minutes or so of action.

Another standout from the early games on Saturday morning was [player_tooltip player_id='2398999' first='Spencer' last='Wynsma'] (Hebron H.S. 2026) for [program_tooltip program_id='2075551' first='Indiana' last='Game'] National-1 2026. The 6'3" guard is coming off of a strong sophomore season and showcased some of the same fluid athleticism and offensive skill that led to his successful winter. He finished with a team-high 17 points in a win over [program_tooltip program_id='2075622' first='M14' last='Hoops'] National-2 2026.

[player_tooltip player_id='2387450' first='Elijah' last='Campbell'] (Plainfield East H.S. 2027) was a young prospect playing up an age group with [program_tooltip program_id='2078378' first='Illinois' last='TWolves'] 2026 and did more than hold his own. The 5'10" playmaker handled the ball well against pressure, played with good pace and composure for a young guard, and displayed his ability to stretch the defense well beyond the three-point line.

[program_tooltip program_id='2075551' first='Indiana' last='Game'] 2027 was incredibly impressive in an early afternoon win on Saturday. The UA Rise program features some very talented prospects that were key contributors on their respective high school teams at the varsity level. [player_tooltip player_id='2140346' first='Dakori' last='Parker'] (South Bend Washington H.S. 2027) was one of the standouts showcasing his pure scoring ability that made him one of the top freshman scorers in the state this season. [player_tooltip player_id='2140449' first='Trell' last='Hogue'] (Fort Wayne Snider H.S. 2027) and [player_tooltip player_id='2140409' first='Ketron' last='Paschall'] (Fort Wayne Snider H.S. 2027) were both very good as well. That trio scored 17, 15, and 13 points respectively as [program_tooltip program_id='2075551' first='Indiana' last='Game'] UA Rise 2027 defeated Wisconsin Crusaders 2027 71-49.

One of the better pure prospects in the gym on Saturday was Tref Rademaker for Team Herro EYBL 2027. The 6'8" forward is one of Wisconsin's top players in the class. He was able to dominant the game on both ends of the floor around the basket. His combination of length, fluidity when moving around the floor, and interior skill is really impressive for his young age.

[player_tooltip player_id='2129321' first='Drew' last='Dixon'] (South Bend Adams H.S. 2027) poured in 23 points as [program_tooltip program_id='2076210' first='5Star' last='Basketball'] 3SGB 2027 opened up the Chi-Town Tip Off with a 62-42 win over [program_tooltip program_id='2075267' first='All' last='in Athletics'] Figueroa 3SGB. [player_tooltip player_id='2375172' first='Chase' last='Devine'] (Bremen H.S. 2027) added 15 points for 5Star. Both of these young prospects are really talented scorers.

[player_tooltip player_id='2403910' first='Logan' last='Wessel'] (Mount Carmel-Chicago H.S. 2027) was excellent as Mike Glennon Elite 2027 held on defeat [program_tooltip program_id='2075551' first='Indiana' last='Game'] National 2027. The 6'0" guard was a smooth operator with the ball in his hands finishing with a team-leading 15 points. However, even with his obvious scoring chops, Wessel was more impressive as a passer. He processes the game at a high level and has great vision. Really impressive lead guard who controlled the game at all times on both ends of the floor in a winning effort.
