Bernard Venckus Bernard Venckus 5’10” | SF IL may only be in the 2029 Class but he is a scorer with the basketball at an above average rate. Venckus has swagger, smooth game play, and a ton of coordination for his age. The thing that stands out about his game is that it’s effortless. He can catch at any position on the offensive end and he can go get a bucket at Will in a plethora of different ways. This past weekend his full arsenal was on display. He was hitting shots from deep, he was getting into the middle of the defense off the dribble and he was hitting open teammates while they were cutting to the rim. More times than not, Venckus was killing it at this event and that was easy to see.

What Bryce Skemp brings to the floor is impressive to say the least. Skemp is a prospect that stands at 6’3 going into 8th grade and he is extremely versatile. He can pass from the Point, score from the Wing, or post up near the basket against smaller opponents. Right now, Skemp’s game has to grow into his size frankly. He is very good for his age and his size is eye-opening. If he continues to handle the ball and he physically grows, he is going to be a really nice piece to whoever gets him at the high school level. By that time he will much more experienced and that experience will do him wonders in the long run. He showed glimpses of it this weekend and it was special to watch first hand.

Another lengthy prospect that stepped up multiple times this weekend from the same Wisconsin Attack – Chapman 2029 team is Nolan Hoff. Hoff stands at 6’1, while moving well for that size. Hoff is the type that can be moved all over the floor at this point. Either he can bring up the ball off of a rebound as the Point or he can play off of the ball an still produce at a higher rate than most. I really do feel like a broken record saying this but this is another player that has a really promising future. He has size, coordination, skill, and a whole lot of promise ahead of him in this game. If he sticks with it, the possibilities are endless.

Daniel Carlson Daniel Carlson Wilmette Jr. High School | 2029 IL is a smaller guard that has a big game. Carlson is explosive. He works in mysterious ways but the #1 thing he does on the basketball court is score the ball with EASE. Carlson is very good off the dribble at creating his own. He gets to every spot he wants to in the blink of an eye, usually finishing the possession with a simple bucket near or at the rim. This weekend Carlson made things happen. When his team was in need for a bucket, he did his thing and made it happen. Out of the 2029 Class, this is someone to keep an eye on. He plays with some determination and a high motor. Something more prospects at this age could learn from while watching.
Ibrahim Aziz Ibrahim Aziz 5’11” | PF IL has strength, size, some coordination in open space, and he runs the floor well for said size. Aziz is one of his team’s enforcers in the middle. He plays the Center/Forward position and usually does a good job of holding his own against alike sized opponents. This past weekend, he was flying all over the court and leaving it all on the line. He never seemed to get tired and he was someone making a conscious choice to protect on the defensive end, while staying “big” offensively near the paint. This is another prospect that has some promise with the size-and-skill combination he has shown the past few days.
