The teams in the spacious Champion Center all set out to attain bragging rights for the year. Each game had highlight worthy plays, and players looking to prove their team was worthy of a Championship Title. Although there can only be one champion, there was no shortage of intensity throughout the entire weekend in each division. Below, I highlighted the “Day 3 Standouts” that I was able to watch at the “Madness in the Midwest”.
Amos Ewing | ABC Young Lions
Ewing was a floor leader for ABC Young Lions . He has a tight handle to go along with good strength. He caused some matchup issues at the guard spot and shined at times as the first option. It was very hard to stop him after he gained a head of steam to the basket.
JR Swift | Aqua Elite
Swift had shining moments at the helm for Aqua Elite. He yields a smooth jump shot with shifty handles. He was very dangerous when in one on one situations. Most impressive was his ability to rise and fire in the mid range area.
D’andre Jones | Power Circle
Jones brought a fearlessness to the floor all weekend for Power Circle. He used his strength and low center of gravity to find his positioning on both ends. He showed high level skill when driving and finding teammates. Jones was a matchup nightmare and caused a lot of mismatches with the ball in his hands.
Trace Damrow Trace Damrow 6'3" | PF Howards Grove | 2027 WI | CBA North
Damrow was a solid floor leader for CBA North. He proved to have a great feel for the game on and off the ball. He is a big guard who plays with finesse and moxy. He did a great job distributing and scoring when called upon.
