Aiden was a poised, tempo pusher looking to create chances for his team all weekend. He kept the game alive on multiple occasions as he went down to score on key possessions. He was reliable offensively showing skill and technique on his finishes and his quick jump shot. He scored very consistently across all four games getting up 15+ in each from all three levels. His game was very mature in the way he wasn’t bothered or forced to speed up by tough active defense. A great passer finding angles that maybe even his own teammates don’t see. He guarded the top guard on the court for the majority of the weekend and held his own, showing good lateral movement and defensive awareness. A ball hawk in the passing lane and a strong core when receiving contact.
Highlights
Robinson is a bundle of pure athleticism mixed with sharp IQ and agility. He was able to bully guards to his spots inside and finish extremely well over and through extra defenders. His speed with the ball makes him more dangerous as he doesn’t have to use a ton of dribble moves to get his buckets. He excels at shifting his weight and gliding around smaller players as he finishes at tough angles. He can knock down shots when given but is hunting for a gap inside to make a play from. He will share the ball as well as play some solid defense. He likes to cut ball handlers off and tip or poke the ball for steals once they pick up the dribble to dish. He turns steals into a one-man fast break show with the ability to dunk proficiently. He averaged 19 points and 5 rebounds, going 4-0 at Santa Fe Life Center.
Highlights
Gabe is a gifted athlete with a unique skillset, a utility player that will guard 1-4 and scores tough buckets inside. He can be an asset on both ends of the court with his ability to read the floor. He has a great sense of positioning and looks for ways to catch defenders lacking when the ball is far side. Adept at finding steals in the passing lane and can really get some air under him to dunk the ball acrobatically. Doesn’t mind playing the cleanup role scoring second chance points using his long arms and speed. More of a dribble drive type player than a pure passer but gets the job done when needed. He scored in bunches in all 4 games averaging 17 points and 8 rebounds.
Kaleb is a strong, fundamental, all-around player. He is a sturdy built player that will wear opponents out with his power and agility. He was a clear double-double threat every game, whether it was points and rebounds or points and assists. He was an exceptional defender, he adjusted to switches well and made stops in the post and around the wing. He has the ability to score efficiently at all three levels. He’s hard to defend in the paint because of great footwork and strength to get defenders out of the way. When it comes to shooting, he fares best as a catch and shoot player who can hit his free throws. He shows flashes of a pull up jump shot but gets downhill more often. He showcased his skill by averaging 15 points and 9 boards over 4 wins this weekend.
Matthew is a post centric, stretch big man that can give you a variety of looks on offense. A great three-point shooter that has range and a deep bag of shooting skills. He can be a catch and shoot player, but just as well likes to get to the step back and create space. He plays well out of the dribble hand off and screen and roll/pop. He is deceptive as a passer with plenty of moves at his disposal to get rid of the ball. He excels at playing from the inside, out. He can be a back to the basket threat with good drop steps and up and under moves. He uses two feet in the lane to keep plays moving and get shots up after contact. He displays good IQ on defense, good at splitting the lane and recovering to bigs. He had scoring games of 15, 21, 22, and 28. He made 17 threes over 4 games and averaged nearly 5 rebounds.
