There are new programs, new names to learn, old faces in new places, and under-the-radar guys ready to break out throughout the state! For these Juniors it’s a chance leave a good impression on College Coaches, get a new look with a new squad, or have one last ride with their program. Check out this list of five intriguing prospects that could be in store for a strong Spring:
Treyvon Maddox Treyvon Maddox 6’7″ | SF Gray Collegiate | 2025 State #81 Nation SC will be running with a new team this AAU season, Team Curry. Maddox has one of the highest ceilings for any prospect in the state due to his size and length. He moves the floor very well and has exciting 3 & D potential. In Gray Collegiate’s State Championship Winning Season this year, Trey averaged 10.1 Points Per Game and 3.8 Rebounds Per Game while shooting over 40% from the field.
Amare is another prospect from SC that will be playing with a major Under Armour program in Charlotte this Spring. He is a two-time All-State player and is coming off a Junior Season where he averaged 16.0 Points Per Game and just over a steal and an assist per game. Anderson has a comfortable mid-range game, is an athletic finisher at the rim, and plays hard on the defensive end on the floor.
Coming off a State Championship-winning season with Ridge View, Malachi will be playing with Upward Stars SE 3SSB Gold during the AAU Season. He is a pure shooter, an attribute that proved to be crucial for the Blazers in important games. Cooper averaged 9 Points Per Game and shot over 40% from behind the arc. Malachi also has good qualities on the defensive end and could carve out a role on the wing for Upward this spring.
Ethan Crews is another pure shooter who I will be keeping an eye on during the Grassroots Season. Crews led 4A Region 1 in 3-point shooting this season at 46% while averaging over 18 Points Per Game. He has tremendous off-ball movement and a quick release to get his shot up over bigger defenders. Crews will be running with EA Prep Stars, an Adidas Gold program.
Highlights
Warga has stayed loyal to Next Level Elite and will return to them for his final AAU Season. Rhett will have a versatile role for NLE as he did during the High School Season for Wren. He averaged 7.5 Points Per Game, 6.2 Rebounds Per Game, and 2.6 Assists Per Game. One of his most impressive attributes, however, is his ability to draw charges on the defensive end. NLE has been one of the more successful independent programs over recent years and Warga should play an important part in that success again this year.
