Team Charlotte has Palmetto State Duo:
Evan Enos Evan Enos 6'8" | PF Byrnes | 2025 State SC and Amare Anderson Amare Anderson 6'2" | PG Greer | 2025 State SC figure very well into the plans for Team Charlotte UAA 2025. Enos a forward was able to drop in some three-pointers today for his squad. Evan plays very well out on the wing knocking down shots. Enos attends Byrnes HS where he helped the Rebels get to the Class 5A State Championship Game this past March.
Anderson a guard can score the ball from all 3 levels on the floor. Amare was able to drop some floaters here today when he wasn’t dialing in from downtown. Anderson brings good ball pressure to the ball on the defensive side of the floor. Amare attends Greer HS in the Upstate.
Carolina Shockers Make Some Noise:
The Carolina Shockers and a host of players had a strong showing this past weekend at the King of the Hill in Rock Hill. Joshua Goodman Joshua Goodman 6'4" | SF Hampton County | 2025 State SC , Gage Dicks Gage Dicks 6'1" | SG Andrew Jackson Academy | 2025 State SC , Tre’von Walker Tre’von Walker 6'3" | CG Aiken | 2025 State SC and Julian Miller Julian Miller 6'7" | PF Lucy Beckham | 2025 SC all really showed up and played well with Prep Hoops in attendance.
Goodman really brings good versatility to the floor with his ability to play all over in on the perimeter. Joshua was extremely active in the passing lanes and picking up deflections all weekend long. He constantly remains in communication with his teammates on the floor and plays the game very vocal.
Dicks is dialed in to score the rock while on the hardwood. Gage made the move last fall from Barnwell HS to Andrew Jackson Academy. He was quite the addition for the Warriors last season in the SCISA Class 2A ranks. Dicks has a quick trigger especially from behind the three-point line.
Walker is a left-handed forward who really has a good look to him. Tre’von likes to slash to the basket and finish plays at the rim. Walker averaged 13.5 ppg and 7.4 rebounds this past season at Aiken HS. Tre’von certainly still has his best basketball in front of him.
Miller is a late bloomer who really seems to be in shape now. Julian who plays at Lucy Beckham HS joined the Bengals last year after moving in from Savannah, GA. Miller previously attends Groves HS in Georgia. Julian has soft hands and a willingness to post up with his back to the basket. He really has made good strides in the past year since arriving in Mount Pleasant for Head Coach Andrew Glover.
Carolina Raptors Lose in Semifinals:
The Carolina Raptors lost a tough one on Sunday to Team United 2026 EYBL in the semifinals. Melvin Teal Jr Melvin Teal Jr 6'3" | PG Summerville | 2025 State #301 Nation SC , Shane Potts Shane Potts 6'1" | CG Goose Creek | 2025 State SC , Ja’Kease Salley Ja’Kease Salley 6'5" | SF Woodland | 2025 State SC and Gavin Ward Gavin Ward 6'4" | SG James Island | 2025 State SC all came away playing solid games. Teal Jr really had his shot falling here today as he collected 4 three-pointers in the game. Melvin really likes to play his game going to the basket and having the ability to overpower defenders. He likes to play downhill and being physical. Melvin will jump on the deck for a 50/50 ball every time. He’s an extremely tough young man.
Potts finished with 17 points today according to my unofficial scoring. Shane showed some pull-ups off the dribble when he wasn’t connecting on a three-ball from downtown. Potts put himself in position to find spots today. Shane attends Goose Creek HS in the Lowcountry .
Salley is a high energy player who just brings effort and determination every time he touches the floor. Ja’Kease just manufactures points on effort alone each game. He collects rebounds, loose balls and takes charges. He works for everything he does on the hardwood and attends Woodland HS in the Lowcountry.
Ward is a shooter who can really dial it in from the corners. Gavin attends James Island HS. He really shoots the ball at a good clip and always seems to be in position to receive the ball in the pocket and let it fly.
