Here’s a look at part two of the top wings in the class, ranking the top five shooting guards and small forwards in the junior class.
5) Adlan Elamin Adlan Elamin 6'8" | SF Paul VI | 2025 State #266 Nation VA | 6’8” SF | Paul VI (#13 Overall)
Elamin is emerging as a high major prospect that should see his recruitment take off this summer with Team Takeover on the EYBL. It doesn’t take long to see why he’s so intriguing, as he has great size on the perimeter is a dead eye shooter who can spot up but can also create his own shot as well. At 6’8” he has long arms to get deflections and challenge shots, he can put it on the deck and create space, he drills it from deep with good range and he doesn’t need much space to get off his shot off.
4) Elijah Kelly Elijah Kelly 6'5" | SF Miller School | 2025 State #235 Nation VA | 6’7” SF | Miller School (#11 Overall)
Kelly is a player we’ve been keeping an eye on since his days at Radford, and now that he’s reclassified and playing on a Miller team with a chance to win a state championship he’s starting to show it against high level competition. At 6’7” he’s an athletic wing with great size and the ability to play multiple positions, and he’s showing continued improvement throughout the season. He can handle the ball well for his size and make plays for others, he’s an athletic finisher above the rim and he can challenge shots at the rim, he can guard multiple positions and he can make shots from deep as well.
3) Jordan Scott Jordan Scott 6'7" | SG South Lakes | 2025 State #130 Nation VA | 6’7” SG | South Lakes (#6 Overall)
Scott blew up last summer playing with VA Elite and holds an impressive list of high major offers, and this year he backed it up with big time play for a talented South Lakes team. The 6’7” shooting guard checks the boxes physically and athletically, and he’s a jack-of-all-trades player who can impact the game across the board. He is a good shooter from deep when set with good range, he is an unselfish playmaker off the bounce, he’s an excellent defender both on the ball and in help side and as he continues to fill out he’ll get even more physical than he already is.
2) Austin Williford Austin Williford 6'4" | CG Saint Anne’s Belfield | 2025 State #137 Nation VA | 6’5” SF | STAB (#5 Overall)
If there’s one player in this class that I believe is being highly under recruited, it would be Williford who had a fantastic junior season for a very talented STAB team. The 6’5” wing is one of the best two way players in the state, as he’s a lock down defender who has a good IQ and couples that with terrific athleticism as a rebounder and a shot blocker. He can handle the ball and make plays for himself and others off the bounce, he’s improved a lot as a shooter to the point where he’s a big time threat from deep, he is an athletic finisher above the rim and he plays with great energy and a high motor as someone who is willing to do the dirty work as well.
1) Nate Ament Nate Ament 6'8" | SF Highland | 2025 State #12 Nation VA | 6’8″ WF | Highland School (#1 Overall)
Ament blew up over the last two seasons and is a consensus top 30 player in the country on the most respected national rankings sites. He’s a unique player with a very translatable skillset, as he has the size to guard bigs and the length to guard around the rim, but offensively he has great ball skills and can score the ball in many different ways. He can knock it down from deep at a very high percentage and doesn’t need much room to get his shot off, and he’s really improved in his ability to handle the ball in the half court and create shots for himself and make contested shots from all three levels. He is mobile and has the ability to both run the floor and handle it in transition, he can make plays for others and he puts up big numbers across the board.
