Continue ReadingThe Throne is one of the final stops of the high school season. Taking place at American Dream in New Jersey from Wednesday to Saturday and featuring 16 of the top programs in the country, Prep Hoops takes a look at a few underclassmen guards who could take advantage of the big stage:
A quick and shifty lead guard who’s a threat to score and plays with a flare, Davis may have the biggest part to play of any guy on this list when it comes to their team being successful at The Throne. There’s plenty of talent on the wing for RV, and senior forward Jayden Pretty will have a chance to assert himself down low; but it will be Davis who will help run the show.
An athletic wing at 6-foot-5, Richardson is the X-factor for a talented Columbus squad that features a number of future high-major division one players on it’s roster and that’s just the start. He plays passing lanes well and is a terror in transition.
Highlights
Haggins has the ability to make defenses pay from deep as well as put the ball on the floor a little bit. Playing off the talented duo of Darnez Slater (Colorado State) and 2025 wing Brayden Burries allows him to find soft spots in the defense and set himself up for open looks. If Roosevelt is going to go on a run, they will need Haggins to provide floor spacing.
Graves has built an early reputation as a big time shooter who can score it coming off screens or off the dribble. Playing with a Kell team that features a number of Division one prospects in the backcourt, he’s more of a role player this year. If he gets hot from beyond the arc on day one it could make Kell all the more dangerous.

Dockery had a very good first season at Eagle Academy and looked comfortable going against older and more physical players in the PSAL on a near nightly basis. Learning from senior guard Jakai Sanders Jakai Sanders 6’2″ | PG Bishop Loughlin | 2024 State #187 Nation NY has certainly helped him to grow as a playmaker and decision maker at an early age.
