Bechen was far-and-away the best player in the 1A field, just as he has been the best player in 1A basketball this season. The 6-2 guard was dominant in leading the Lynx to the state title, finishing as the leading scorer (raw points, not points per game) across all four classes at the state tournament. His blend of speed, power, finesse, shooting, ball-handling, and court vision make him nearly impossible to slow down at this level once he decides it's his time to take over.

The future Iowa football player was especially good in the Wolves' quarterfinal win over Lynnville-Sully, scoring 21 points with 9 rebounds. An athletic freak who can dominate the game on both ends of the floor, he absolutely took that game over in helping lead WMU into the semifinals.

The 6-5 lefty was a force to be reckoned with on the glass throughout the Bulldogs' two games at the state tournament, leading the tournament in rebounds per game. He's a tough, physical forward with soft hands, good footwork, and great touch around the rim.

A 6-5 wing, Pflughaupt was great defensively in the championship win over Marquette Catholic, blocking five shots in that win. A long, lanky wing who can stretch the floor and defend multiple positions, he was great offensively in the quarterfinals and semifinals, and then let his defense do the talking in the title game.

2025 [player_tooltip player_id='1759939' first='Spencer' last='Roeder'] (Marquette Catholic)
Stats: 13.7 points, 11.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 14-34 FG (41.2%), 5-16 3P (31.3%), 8-10 FT (80.0%)

Roeder struggled in the Defenders first game, going 1-10 from the floor in that game, but he was great in the semifinals and championship, averaging 17.5 points and 13.0 rebounds in those games. A 6-5 wing who can stretch the floor, create off the dribble, and dominate on the glass, his ability to mentally bounce back from a poor opener was huge for the runner-up Defenders and said a lot about him as a player.
