Lance had a breakout showing this past weekend, scoring 33 points in a single game, which was the highest I saw. He has a strong 6’5” frame and was knocking down some super difficult shots. He could use his size and strength to work in the post, being able to get to the rim or hit tough fadeaways over a defender. He’s also a threat from beyond the arc, working well off the catch. He is a solid defender as well, especially inside. Helming appears to be an unsigned senior who is also a standout on the gridiron. He would be a huge steal for any Division 3 level program.

The latest in a long line of skilled Helming boys to pass through the halls at Lake Mills, Lance is a 6-5 forward who scores in bunches and does so in a highly efficient manner. He’s long and does a great job using his length to impact the game on both ends of the floor. He has soft touch around the rim, is a good free-throw shooter, and is improving as a passer. He averaged 17.7 points and 7.1 rebounds a game as a junior on nearly 56% shooting.
