Still shot it extremely well for the Defenders, especially in the third quarter when he went 3-4 from behind the arc to help Marquette take the lead in the 1A championship game. A 5-6 guard who shoots it really well off both the dribble and the catch, he did a solid job on both ends of the floor, finishing with 16 points on 6-10 shooting (4-6 3P) and 5 rebounds.

The 6-5 wing was really good as a two-way weapon for the Defenders in their 1A title game loss to North Linn, scoring 17 points on 6-11 shooting (1-4 3P, 4-6 FT) to go with 14 rebounds, 2 assists, a block, and a steal. While he's a good shooter, he was at his best in this one while creating off the dribble, using his size and long strides to get to the rim for finishes. He's a good athlete who competes hard on the glass on both ends of the floor, and he's a good enough ball-handler to lead the break after pulling down a board.

2025 PG [player_tooltip player_id='1484418' first='Mason' last='Bechen'] (North Linn)

Bechen concluded his fantastic week in Des Moines with another great game against Marquette Catholic, scoring 24 points on 10-18 shooting (0-4 3P, 4-5 FT) to go with 7 rebounds and 5 assists. The tough, quick guard is so difficult to stop when he's playing downhill, turning the corner and getting to the bucket at will. He sees the floor extremely well, can finish through contact, and was great on the glass throughout the Lynx's win.

2024 PF Jake Van Etten (North Linn)

An active 6-2 forward, Van Etten was really good in the fourth quarter for the Lynx in their championship win, scoring 7 of his 11 points in the final period. He has good hands, finishes well around the rim, and is an active defender who rotates well and has good instincts. He had 11 points on 5-9 shooting for the Lynx.

He moves his feet well defensively and has quick hands and feet that he uses to make a major impact on that end of the floor.

A 6-3 wing, Moret shot it extremely well in the Wolfpack's win over Hudson, scoring 23 points on 8-17 shooting (5-8 3P, 2-2 FT) with 9 rebounds, an assist, and 2 steals. He moves well without the ball and has a quick release off the catch with unlimited range. He can get scorching hot in a hurry, as he did when he dropped 13 points in the third quarter.

Douma was great in the first half for the Wolfpack, scoring 17 points on 6-9 shooting (5-7 3P) in the first half, helping keep the Wolfpack afloat in the first 16 minutes while some of their other standouts were limited. A 6-1 guard with a quick release and great off-ball movement, he finished with 23 points on 8-14 shooting (7-12 3P) with 4 rebounds and 3 assists, helping lead Western to another 2A championship.

A mobile 6-5 forward, Davis was the most consistent offense for the Pirates in their loss to Western, scoring 19 points on 7-15 shooting (1-4 3P, 4-4 FT) and 5 rebounds. He runs the floor hard, has good footwork and hands, and soft touch around the rim.

The 6-3 wing concluded a fantastic week in Des Moines with a double-double, finishing with 11 points and 10 rebounds in the Knights' title win over Waverly-Shell Rock. But more importantly, he once again played stellar defense against the opposing team's best player, locking down [player_tooltip player_id='1759905' first='Luke' last='Frazell'], limiting him to 7 points on 2-7 shooting after he had gone off for 31 points in the semifinals.

The 6-4 guard who holds several high-major offers already, Shabazz played his best game of the week on the biggest stage, scoring 16 points on 6-13 shooting (0-3 3P, 4-5 FT) with 5 rebounds and 4 steals in the Knights' 3A title win over Waverly-Shell Rock. He's at his best when he's playing downhill and attacking the rim, and he did a better job of doing so than he did in the Knights' first two games of the week. His ability to attack off the dribble helped lead to his game-winning free throw with 4.2 seconds left to play.

A 6-6 wing who shoots it well off the dribble and the catch, he didn't have his best shooting game in the title game loss against the stout Assumption defense, but he still lead WSR in scoring and also contributing 14 rebounds and 4 assists.

2025 PF [player_tooltip player_id='1759895' first='Trevin' last='Jirak'] (Valley)

Jirak wrapped up his stellar week in Des Moines with another huge game on both ends of the floor against Kennedy, scoring 19 points on 7-10 shooting (5-6 FT), 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 5 blocks, and a steal. The 6-9 big man was a force in the paint, protecting it defensively and making it extremely difficult for the Cougars to score around the rim. He sees the floor well and is a talented passer, which when combined with his size, makes him a huge asset on the offensive end as a playmaker.

He has a tremendous feel for the game, never gets sped up, and he uses his size and physicality to control the game on both ends.

McKowen had his best game of the week in the Cougars' loss to Valley, scoring 17 points on 8-16 shooting (1-6 3P) with 2 assists and 4 steals. A 5-11 guard who handles it well and embraces contact around the rim, the lefty is as tough as they come, and he did a great job flying all over the floor on the defensive end.

The 6-1 guard has come off the bench to give the Cougars a spark on both ends of the floor all season, and that continued in Kennedy's loss to Valley, as he scored 10 points on a perfect 4-4 shooting (2-2 3P) with a rebound and 2 steals. He's a high IQ guard who positions himself well on the defensive end, uses his length effectively on that end, and he shoots it extremely well off the catch.
