-Full skillset was on display for Diggs in this one, hitting everything from a sidestep three to finishing multiple 1-handed dunks in transition to punctuate forced turnovers. The ODU commit showed off his athleticism, pull-up game from the elbows, and a nice array of extension finishes while finishing 7/11 from the floor.
26p 6r 4b 2a 1s vs DeMatha
-Alarie turned in another elite offensive performance while also showing off his ability to block shots on ball, chasedown blocks from behind, as well as pins as a weakside helper. He had the midrange game working as a face-up shooter but also hit several with his back to the basket off of pivots in the midpost. One of the best available prospects in the 2024 class continues to weigh his options for next season.
18p 4r 2b 2s 1a vs Bullis
-Folefac turned in another great defensive performer as a big/wing that can guard most guys on the floor but he also showed some of the perimeter skillwork that has developed over the past year. Folefac hit a nice 18-footer off the dribble, hit a wing 3, and also scored well off of post moves around the rim with either hand. If the perimeter skill continues to develop, I expect Folefac to develop more MM interest while collecting LM offers because of his versatility at both ends of the floor.
23p 1s 1a 1r vs vs St. Andrew’s
-Meeks came into the game riding a hot streak from the perimeter and continued it in this one, going 5/9 from beyond the arc to put the game away for DeMatha. Loved the aggression but also the patience from Meeks in this one, reading the defense well to make the extra pass and collect hockey assists or knock down a perimeter shot. Meeks hit movement shots off of lifts and elevator screens, hit pull-up Js when chased off the line, and took care of the rock for a DeMatha team that advances to the championship against Bullis tomorrow night.
10p 9a 7r vs St. Andrew’s
-One of the more under-appreciated players in the area, Wallace is such a valuable piece for a Stags team that needs his defense, rebounding, and play-making to win games. He bumped St. Andrew’s guards and forced them to turn over the ball or pick their dribble up in bad spots to disrupt the offense. Wallace got Meeks and Sebastian going from beyond the arc in the 1Q, delivered easy buckets for Walton and Thomas on the low block, and hit a wing three to put the game away for DeMatha.
13p 4r 3a 1s
-Dickerson begins to prove the doubters wrong as a microwave scorer that is also capable of finding teammates and helping off the glass. The smooth lefty guard plays with a ton of confidence and hit his first three off the bounce before knocking down some set shots and hitting open teammates off of baseline drives. As he learns how to take advantage of the scoring gravity to draw 2 defenders to create easy looks for teammates off the bounce– he will be a really difficult prospect to guard.
