PG [player_tooltip player_id='1171661' first='Redek' last='Born'] (Norwalk)
The move: 3 to 1

Born steadily climbed the 2024 rankings over the last two years, and will finish as our #1 ranked player in the class. The 6-2/6-3 guard has a remarkable understanding of the game and put together a tremendous senior year for the Warriors, averaging 23.0 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 4.1 assists on 52-38-86 shooting splits. The future Northern Iowa guard is a versatile two-way player who can create off the dribble, play without the ball in his hands, and is a solid defender.

PG [player_tooltip player_id='1171659' first='Owen' last='Larson'] (Estherville Lincoln Central)
The move: 5 to 2

Another guard who steadily climbed the rankings in each update, Larson put together a special senior year, averaging 27.3 points, 8.5 rebounds, 6.1 assists, and 3.1 steals a game and shot 47% from the floor despite facing constant junk defenses. The future South Dakota State guard is another high IQ player who can create off the dribble, knock down shots off the catch, and he's a skilled playmaker who could make an early impact for the Jackrabbits as either a bench scorer or a playmaker who can get his teammates involved.

PG [player_tooltip player_id='1171660' first='Carson' last='Johnson'] (Ankeny)
The move: 15 to 6

Johnson was arguably the best player in 4A this season, putting up just under 23 points a game on ridiculous 51-47-89 shooting. He's a dynamic three-level scorer who shoots it off the dribble as well as anyone in the state, with range well beyond the 3-point line. He plays with a ton of confidence, sees the floor extremely well, and is a high IQ defender. He'll make an impact quickly at Minnesota State Moorhead.

PG [player_tooltip player_id='1288923' first='Luke' last='Winkel'] (Centennial)
The move: 11 to 7

Sensing a theme here? The final update in the 2024 rankings saw a lot of skilled guards shoot up the rankings, and Winkel is another who elevated himself into the top-10 in the class with a strong senior showing. A tough guard who loves the big moments, he thrives when playing downhill and getting to the rim, creating looks for himself and his teammates off the dribble. He has steadily improved his jumper as well, and had his best shooting season, burying over 40% of his 3-point attempts while averaging 21.4 points and 4.8 assists a game.

PG [player_tooltip player_id='1153046' first='Jack' last='Miller'] (Jesup)
The move: 35 to 14

Despite facing constant junk defensive looks, Miller put up eye-popping numbers for the J-Hawks in his senior year, averaging 26 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 2.7 steals a game on 53-40-73 shooting splits. A 6-0 guard with explosive athleticism, he posted a few highlight reel dunks during the season that turned some heads. Like the other guards on this list, he's capable of playing with or without the ball and is the type of versatile player who could make an early impact at Upper Iowa.

SF [player_tooltip player_id='1376686' first='Jesse' last='Van Kalsbeek'] (MOC-Floyd Valley)
The move: 34 to 15

Van Kalsbeek's spectacular season ended with the Mr. Basketball honor, and it was well earned. The 6-6 wing averaged 26 points and 10.8 rebounds a game and showcased his ability to score from all three levels, impact the game defensively with his length and athleticism, and control the glass on both ends of the floor. A high IQ player who positions himself well and contributes across the board, he'll have a really nice career at Northwestern College.

SF [player_tooltip player_id='1476964' first='Brennan' last='Reid'] (North Scott)
The move: 51 to 32

Reid has really improved as a two-way player over the last few years, becoming more athletic and using his size, length, and athleticism to impact the game on both ends of the floor. He's a tremendous shooter from deep, shooting 45.8% from behind the arc and leading the Lancers in scoring (13.3 points) and rebounding (7.5).

C [player_tooltip player_id='1288920' first='Kanyon' last='Bryte'] (Western Dubuque)
The move: 53 to 34

Bryte was asked to do a lot for the inexperienced Bobcats this season and put together a really good close to his career, averaging 16.7 points, 8.8 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.7 blocks on 56-32-52 shooting. He showed improved vision and passing out of the post, better ball-handling, and some more confidence in stretching the floor. As he moves to the next level, he should continue to iron out his jumper and become a valuable stretch-4.

SG [player_tooltip player_id='1222528' first='Adam' last='Bryte'] (ADM)
The move: 67 to 37

A 6-4 wing who is one of the best shooters in the class, Bryte has a lightning-quick release on his jumper, moves well without the ball in his hands, and improved as a ball-handler and playmaker over the last year. He averaged 15.8 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 2.8 assists a game while shooting just under 40% from behind the arc.

SG [player_tooltip player_id='1376675' first='Cole' last='Marsh'] (Waverly-Shell Rock)
The move: 48 to 39

It would've been interesting to see just how good Marsh could've gotten if he decided to pursue the basketball route in college. Instead, he'll play tight end at Iowa, which has proven to be a lucrative decision for many, some we certainly can't blame him there! But the 6-6 wing can score from all three levels, control the glass, and create plays off the dribble. A strong, athletic wing with a pure stroke off the dribble and the catch, he put together a great senior year for the 3A runner-up Go-Hawks.

SF [player_tooltip player_id='1288861' first='Tanner' last='Berggren'] (Bondurant-Farrar)
The move: 167 to 43

Berggren had one of the most productive summers of any player in the state, and then followed that up with an outstanding senior year, averaging 21.8 points, 6.0 rebounds and shooting 37.7% from behind the arc. A 6-4 wing who moves really well without the ball in his hands and has a pure stroke from the arc, he'll be a really good small-college player with his ability to fill it up in a hurry.

PG [player_tooltip player_id='1288864' first='Luke' last='Hart'] (Waukee Northwest)
The move: 147 to 45

Hart is a great story, overcoming a battle with Type 1 diabetes to become a great player for the Wolves as a senior, averaging 9.9 points and 4.0 assists, knocking down 39% of his 3s. A quick guard who sees the floor well, handles it, and can shoot at a high clip off both the dribble and the catch, he's a good all-around offensive weapon.

SG [player_tooltip player_id='1476975' first='Jackson' last='Green'] (Dallas Center-Grimes)
The move: 71 to 46

Green shoots it extremely well off the catch and moves really well without the ball in his hands. He had a great senior season, averaging 16 points on 54-42-65 shooting, and with his quick release and pure stroke, he'll be a valuable 3-and-D wing at the next level.
