Prep Hoops Michigan recently released it's prospect rankings for the class of 2027. It's very early in their high school basketball careers, but there are a number of players that are clearly built for this. They are built for the mental and physical grind that is high level high school basketball. Let's look at some ranked players that we feel we feel are "built for this".

He has the natural height and length that can't be taught to others. But beyond that, he moves so well for his size. This allows him to be active and dangerous in transition and in the open floor. Vinyard has good feet on the defensive end and covers a lot of ground on D.","_player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_1_player":["2139938"],"_player_evaluations_1_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_1_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_1_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_1_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_1_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_1_evaluation":"[player_tooltip player_id='2139938' first='Isaiah' last='Marino'] walked into high school built like a veteran. He had to be one of the strongest and most put together freshman in the state physically. When Marino walks in the gym, his stature screams high level basketball player. His game backs that up. Marino was quick and smooth in transition and could finish with touch around the rim as well as with power over top of it.","_player_evaluations_1_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_2_player":["2271008"],"_player_evaluations_2_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_2_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_2_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_2_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_2_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_2_evaluation":"Backus has the physicality and toughness needed to succeed as a high level athlete. He also seems to have the mental strength and toughness needed and an understanding of what it takes to be the best version of himself on the court. That can be a difficult trait to find. Backus and his heights and frame fit the modern game well. It allows him to play and defend multiple positions with success.","_player_evaluations_2_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_3_player":["2140541"],"_player_evaluations_3_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_3_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_3_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_3_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_3_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_3_evaluation":"I mentioned the mental game above. A huge part of being u0022built for thisu0022 comes between the ears. Just look at u003cstrongu003eJonathan Sandersonu003c/strongu003e in the class of 2026. I've said for 2 years now that his mental game separates him. Well, that can be said for [player_tooltip player_id='2140541' first='Zack' last='Tropea'] as well. He's a great coach's son and he plays like it. He can create and score for himself, but he has a clear understanding that scoring is just part of the game. Tropea brings energy defense, quick hands and solid decision making to the table.","_player_evaluations_3_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_4_player":["2140540"],"_player_evaluations_4_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_4_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_4_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_4_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_4_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_4_evaluation":"Just wait till you see him on the Prep Hoops Circuit this spring and summer with the Midwest Stampede 2027. He's a big 6-5 with the strength to match the height. And I really don't think that he's done growing. VanWagner has the strength to back down almost any freshman that I've seen. As he develops a post move and counter move, watch out. VanWagner can also step out free throw line extended and hit a jumper.","_player_evaluations_4_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations":5,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"edit","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-65fd7b81dd207"} /-->
