Vinyard is a special and unique talent. He has a combination of size and power game to go with skills facing the rim and a diverse offensive attack. What exactly is a coach supposed to do to counter act his physical gifts? Very good question and a big reason why Vinyard is scary good.

Vinyard is a vintage forward whose game feels like he should be playing in the 1990s. He is really hard nosed and likes to battle in the mid and low post. He seeks out contact often and can make a living at the foul line. Vinyard is assertive on the glass and can guard multiple positions. He showed flashes on the perimeter.

Vinyard can simply attack from anywhere. He has the height and strength to establish position under the rim. But then on the next possession, can and will face the rim. From there, Vinyard can stretch the D with his ability to shoot or attack with his long strides off a 2 dribble drive to the bucket. His versatility has helped make him a national recruiting target.

I really liked the direction that Vinyard’s game is going. It looked like he’s added muscle and I think it has shown in his game. Vinyard was forceful and strong attacking the rim and finishing through defenders. Adding downhill confidence to an already dangerous jumper is a very big step.

Vinyard is an incredibly exciting young prospect and it was smart for an in-state team to quickly throw their hat in the ring. He has an elite combination of height, length and footwork. And that footwork comes on both ends of the floor. Vinyard can defend multiple positions.

Vinyard has all the tools to be a big time basketball player, in high school and beyond. He has the natural height and length that can’t be taught to others. But beyond that, he moves so well for his size. This allows him to be active and dangerous in transition and in the open floor. Vinyard has good feet on the defensive end and covers a lot of ground on D.

I’m going to put this out there – If you ranked the Top 100 2027’s in the country, Vinyard has to be on it and pretty easily. His size, versatility and ball skills don’t come around every day. Defensively Vinyard is an athletic rim protector. He’s a menace on the glass and can push the pace off the boards. Offensively, he’s so well rounded with the ability to score from anywhere on the floor.
