It was one of the final stops in Nike’s EYBL Scholastic League Play, featuring some of the Top High School Teams and Players in the nation. These six prospects stood out as some of the top wings from the weekend. Subscribe to check them out!
The Iowa State Signee had an extremely efficient outing from behind the arc in Brewster Academy’s win over Wasatch Academy on Friday Afternoon. He hit a three on each of the team’s first two possessions of the game and went on to hit six total in nine attempts. Brewster will run a variety of actions to get Nojus open around the three-point line, and most of them were successful this weekend. He can also score off the dribble with an effective floater and a confident mid-range jump shot.
Jalen is your prototype do-it-all wing. At the next level, his size and length would project him as a 3 and D guy at the very least, with a ceiling to be much more. He is a terrific playmaker and passer off the dribble for a guy of his size, and has quick feet to switch onto multiple positions. In La Lumiere’s win over Veritas Academy on Friday Afternoon, Haralson had a full stat sheet: 15 Points, 7 Rebounds, 4 Assists, 4 Steals, and 2 Blocks on solid efficiency shooting 6-8 from the field and 3-5 from three.
King had back-to-back solid performances for the home team at the 2024 Pete Hollis Showcase. He is a great athlete, solid wing defender, and shooter that must be respected. He is one of the Lions’ sparks on both ends of the floor and had a couple of important plays in their near-comeback against AZ Compass Prep. And against Wasatch Academy, he put on a display of finishing at the rim with a couple of impressive plays including a putback dunk and eurostep layup.
Highlights
Canyon International Academy hasn’t had the season they wanted to in the EYBL Scholastic, but Amier Ali is not one of the reasons why. He has been great all season but he had one of his best performances yet on Saturday Afternoon. It was extremely efficient as well: 23 Points on 8-11 shooting. The AZ Compass Prep defense was focused on Ali, so he was forced to hit tough shots all game long. He is also a very good rebounding wing, finishing with 7 boards to go with his scoring outburst.
Rooths showed some of the charts defensive attributes in South Carolina this weekend. Listed at 6’7″ with a plus wingspan, he has the frame to affect shots against several different defensive assignments. Specifically, he made a big-time play in the third quarter where he went 84 feet to chase down a ball-handler a stuff their shot at the rack. On the offensive end, Khani fed off his teammates to make some big shots. He only had 8 points, but 5 of them came on the back of big IMG runs including a pretty emphatic transition dunk. To go with those 8 points, he put up 3 blocks and 2 steals in their win over La Lumiere.
Fischer is a great shooter with good size at Wasatch Academy in Utah. Due to an injury for highly-rated Junior Isiah Harwell, Brown had an increased workload this weekend at the Pete Hollis Showcase and he stood out on Friday Afternoon in particular. He exploded with 16 first-half points against Brewster Academy, connecting from behind the arc three times, and was fouled on a fourth. Fischer has deep range and moves well of the ball to get open. He could see a late surge in recruiting as a result of these attributes and received an offer from the University of Pennsylvania in January.
