Week nine had its share of high level performances, however we've decided to try to highlight as many new names as possible. New players you might not have heard of yet, new players to the report or players that haven't been highlighted enough in our opinion. You may see a few familiar names in here as well, but keep in mind we have to give you value and use the information available to create these pieces.

[player_tooltip player_id='2347884' first='Zaden' last='Ranson'] is probably most well known for his time on the baseball diamond where he's a D1 baseball recruit with offers. Yet his athleticism and size required for a D1 level athlete is very evident when you see him on the basketball floor. He's a relentless rebounder and put back artist as well as physical and smothering defender which is required to be on the floor at Charleston Catholic. Ranson has had a run of solid games with points and rebounds and recently with a jaw dropping 22 points and 16 rebounds in a win over Scott High School. Ranson is plated (no pun intended) to be ranked in our 2026 rankings when its updated this spring.

[player_tooltip player_id='1851974' first='Jayallen' last='Turner'] continues to live up to his reputation as not only one of WV's best two way players, but one of the grittiest. Turner takes every teams best shot at both ends and continues to deliver every week. Turner is squarely in high level D2 recruiting circles but we think will end up with lower level D1 offers before his high school days are through. Turner with yet another solid performance vs Scott in a win posted 18 points and 8 rebounds in week nine.

[player_tooltip player_id='2304715' first='MJ' last='Patton'] makes yet another appearance on the report. Patton has accomplished some awesome feats this season one being reaching 1000 career points but most recently hitting the big 40 in the box score for total points vs Pipestem. Patton is a talented point guard who would evaluated and projected as a point guard at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='1851879' first='Braydun' last='Ferris'] is still doing it. He's still putting up performances that are putting him in the "best small school guard" conversation. While there are a handful of others in that conversation Ferris continues to produce and lead his Panthers through the stretch part of the schedule. Ferris in back to back games against Sherman and Man posted 21 points, 7asst, 5reb & 16 points, 7asst respectively.

[player_tooltip player_id='2296622' first='Landon' last='Thomas'] has been somewhat quiet to start the season but has roared to life as of late in regards to stats. The rangy and athletic forward typically puts stats in just about every category available every night. But this night vs AA Braxton County Thomas dropped six 3's from behind the arc leading them to a 19 point victory. Thomas is much more recognized on the gridiron where he's one of WV's top WR's and up and coming LB/SS.

[player_tooltip player_id='1573144' first='Maki' last='Cary'] says hello again and just never stops sizzling. Cary dropped an eye popping 38 points vs Mount Hope Christian Academy in WVCAT play. Cary who is not only one of WV's top scorers, but certainly one of the most consistent. Cary sports an NAIA offer currently but we'd project him at the D2 level (in-state) once the dust settles.
