Tuesday night is THE night for hoops across the nation! Here are the top match-ups in Minnesota with a prediction to go with them.

9AAA Alexandria at 7AAA St. Cloud Tech

Jaden Harris vs [player_tooltip player_id='2118495' first='Talan' last='Witt']. Harris is speedy 6'2 guard plays his role and can spring for a big game at times as well. Talan has had some of his better games against better opponents (BSM and Fargo Davies for example).

[player_tooltip player_id='1284214' first='Tameron' last='Ferguson'] vs [player_tooltip player_id='2118449' first='Mason' last='Witt']. The Cards play zone, they switch their defenses, and what I am pretty much trying to say here is that defending Ferguson and his 35-36 points a game on a quality shooting percentage is a job for the entire Cardinal defense.

[player_tooltip player_id='1542122' first='Palmer' last='Baynes'] vs [player_tooltip player_id='1450112' first='Dawson' last='Roderick']. Tech will need Baynes to break out and have a nice game to take some pressure off Ferguson and Edwards. Roderick is one of the five Cards scoring in double figures.

[player_tooltip player_id='2104469' first='Drew' last='Lieser'] vs [player_tooltip player_id='1572690' first='Chase' last='Thompson']. Lieser is a 6'6 forward and his size will be needed to get length on the touch of Thompson.

[player_tooltip player_id='1293963' first='Mekhi' last='Edwards'] vs [player_tooltip player_id='1284138' first='Grayson' last='Grove']. Grove just came back from his latest injury. Likely a bit rusty but Grove's 6'8 size and physical play will be needed to slow Edwards, the second best Tech player.

Prediction. It's a Tech. Tech needs a win here as they are 1.5 games behind Alex in the standings. Section placement is also on the line. Tech won the last game by nine but Thompson and Grove weren't playing which is of course a very big deal. They are playing tonight so I say Alex by six.

Lakeville South at 6AAAA Lakeville North

[player_tooltip player_id='1269166' first='Matt' last='Drake'] vs [player_tooltip player_id='1470706' first='Keaton' last='Ressler']. Drake and Ressler were somewhat similar in the previous game, Drake doing more things as he is a senior veteran while at the same time, North needs him to do more. Ressler and Drake each had five buckets.

[player_tooltip player_id='1846064' first='Tyler' last='Christianson'] vs [player_tooltip player_id='1296149' first='DaMarcus' last='Burks']. I cannot tell you if this was the match-up but I can tell you that Tyler was said to have played a really nice role game at 6'3 in the 76-71 win over South a month ago. Burks had 18 for the Cougars.

[player_tooltip player_id='1284147' first='Jack' last='Robison'] vs [player_tooltip player_id='1284212' first='Ryan' last='Johnson']. Ryan has been playing good basketball and doing a lot of things as we come to expect. Robison is that with much bigger numbers. Jack had 32 in the first game including 11 of 13 foul shooting. South could not stop him and Jack led his Panthers to the win.

[player_tooltip player_id='1436479' first='Andrew' last='Quam'] vs [player_tooltip player_id='2104512' first='Hudson' last='Greene']. The 6'5/6'6 sneaky skilled, confidently productive crowd favorites that know how to play. One of my favorite battles of the night has to be right here.

Prediction. First off, props to Joe and John, to the two programs, and to the two athletic departments as they always have a great theme for these games promoting something for the positive in terms of charity or public support. Now, picking this game. Tough one to call, North has won nine of ten though and Robison is such an ex-factor so I pick Panthers by five again.

Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta at 4AA Eden Valley-Watkins.

Charles Hanson vs Landon Neiman. A pair of upperclassmen steady ball handlers that have had very good seasons. Hanson, a junior, is scoring a lot more than expected while Neiman keeps things very steady.

[player_tooltip player_id='2118471' first='Riley' last='Asmus'] vs Parker Schultz. Two returning all league first teamers. Schultz is the top EVW defender while Asmus is the main scoring option to defend. This will be a great battle.

[player_tooltip player_id='2445191' first='Drew' last='Huebner'] vs [player_tooltip player_id='1434977' first='Noah' last='Stommes']. Drew is a 6'4 versatile player that will often have to work on Stommes, a big and physical back to the basket threat. Different players that are multi-sport stars.

Prediction. Both teams have had some recent stumbles and are looking to get back into a groove before Match. A win here will go a long way for both. Morris Area is much younger, they have one senior in the main rotation while EVW is a veteran team. Veterans are more in need, they win by four.

New Ulm at Hutchinson

[player_tooltip player_id='1284109' first='Colton' last='Benson'] vs [player_tooltip player_id='1617763' first='Kaden' last='Butler']. Benson is on a big time scoring role as of late putting up massive numbers. Kaden is the top Hutch scorer and one of the players that will be in charge of defending Benson.

[player_tooltip player_id='2100665' first='Nathan' last='Firle'] vs [player_tooltip player_id='1436459' first='Nathan' last='Johnson']. Up front Firle is 6'10 and a guy that will get you 14 and 11. Johnson is 6'5 and will be one of the guys trying to keep Firle from those numbers.

Prediction. New Ulm comes in having won 9 of 10 while Hutch has lost 4 of their last 6. New Ulm by five.

Chisago Lakes at Cambridge-Isanti

[player_tooltip player_id='1288720' first='Patrick' last='Rowe'] vs [player_tooltip player_id='1434066' first='John' last='Troolin']. A couple of big number scorers with Troolin putting up 23 a game while Rowe scores 30+.

Prediction. The Bluejackets won the previous game by three as they are the team with more options. We think they will win by two scores this time.
