Check out some of the best shooters from this season from the 1A schools below.
Brower is probably the best shooter in the 1A West class, knocking down 82 threes on the season at a 44% clip. Even with the loss of Davonte Brooks last season, he’s been able to lead ER to a successful season, finishing third in the 1A/2A Piedmont conference in the regular season. He’s got plenty of range and an ability to shoot on the move. Brower will try and repeat the magic of last year with Eastern Randolph as they approach the state tournament.
Bradley was torching the nets all season long for Neuse Charter, finishing the regular season with 69 made threes, which leads the entire 1A East classification. He’s a great jump shooter off the move and off the dribble, who can really break down his opponents and knock down a triple. It translates to being able to hit mid-range pull ups as well. He’ll look to torch the state playoffs soon.
Minter is one of the guys on this list with real positional size for the next level, sporting a 6’5 frame to go with his elite shooting ability. Bouncy too so his game is not one dimensional in terms of only shooting outside jumpers. Has a really smooth stroke that allows him to be consistent in his release, especially in time and space. Would be a really good late pickup for a D2 or JuCo, and has real potential to play at the D1 level if he rounds out his game.
Hicks is an underrated shooter that has came along quickly in the past few months with Wilson Prep, showing his ability to get his own shot off the bounce and knock down the open one. He hit 45 threes on the season at a 37% clip, which should translate to being a slightly above average shooter immediately at the college level. With Wilson Prep expected to make a deep run in the state tournament, expect Hicks to knock down more threes and continue to prove his worth as a shooter.
Loven is a name out of Western NC to know as an impact guy with Mountain Heritage, known for his ability to shoot the deep ball. Making 51 threes at a 48% clip is quite impressive, considering he’ll also be in the 50/40/90 club at the end of the year. With his great free throwing shooting ability at 95%, it’s no wonder his jumper is so consistent as well. He’s a name to make an impact in grassroots season and have a huge senior year.
