Prep Hoops spent another day here in Sumter at the SCISA State Tourney. The day saw us bouncing around between the Sumter County Civic Center and Wilson Hall watching the Class 2A and Class 3A Quarterfinals. How did the action go today? Well maybe it's time to take a look and jump on board and SUBSCRIBE to the site. #RecruitThePalmettoState

Cathedral Blows by Beaufort Academy:

The Generals had little problems getting by the Eagles today 77-45 to advance to the semifinals. [player_tooltip player_id='1669880' first='Bryce' last='Ward'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1982066' first='AJ' last='Gresham'] both finished with 22 points apiece in the lopsided win. Ward a shifty guard really looks to excel in the transition game. He plays the game with a great deal of confidence while on the floor. Gresham was able to score the ball from all 3 levels here today with his play. AJ settled in with good selection and really played within his game.

Andrew Jackson Academy Dominates 2nd Half:

The Warriors went to work in the 2nd half and dominated the Patriots. The Patriots took a 16-6 lead and looked like they were going to improve to (3-0) on the season vs the Warriors. Andrew Jackson Academy made a three-pointer at the buzzer to trail 41-32 at the halftime break. The Warriors outscored Patrick Henry Academy 43-19 in the second half to win 75-60. The Warriors will now advance to the semifinals of SCISA Class 2A to play Cathedral Academy.

Junior guard [player_tooltip player_id='1354733' first='Gage' last='Dicks'] came to life in the 4th quarter by scoring 14 points and finishing with 29 points in the game. Dicks is very athletic guard who excels in the open court game and getting the ball to the cup. Gage was able to race by defenders with his ability to score the ball in transition. [player_tooltip player_id='2175542' first='Hayden' last='McClung'] finished with 21 points while coming up with some timely buckets here today. Hall Sease knocked down 4 three-pointers to score 12 points while [player_tooltip player_id='2207642' first='Carter' last='Brown'] finished with 11 points inside the paint area. Brown brings a ton of intensity to the floor with his ability to rundown rebounds and mix it up at times with his energy.

The Patriots finish the season at (17-6) with the loss today. Senior twin brothers Hugh Fairey and Forrest Fairey finished with 24 points and 14 points respectively. Junior point guard [player_tooltip player_id='2222892' first='Rowen' last='Croft'] finished with 8 points.

Dolphins Come Out on Fire:

Hilton Head Prep came out on fire in the SCISA Class 3A Quarterfinals against Spartanburg Day. Britschge finished with 8 points while showcasing to be a deceptive athlete who can score the ball through contact. Jason has very good footwork to move around the floor very well.

Junior left-handed guard [player_tooltip player_id='1806881' first='Payne' last='Wood'] was able to manage 11 points today for the Griffins in defeat.

Knights Prevail Over Northside Christian:

The Knights (21-8) move on with a 61-53 victory over the Crusaders. The Knights really like on a senior trio of [player_tooltip player_id='1363756' first='Chris' last='Wilkins'], [player_tooltip player_id='1225594' first='Brad' last='Caldwell'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1734781' first='Zenai' last='Davis']. Small Forward [player_tooltip player_id='2356567' first='Nzuhri' last='Biggar'] is a nice sized wing who moves really well around the floor. Davis a small forward or a bit of a tweener on the hardwood brings plenty of activity along the baseline. Wilkins brings a "JYD" mentality to the floor at times and toughness around the cup. Caldwell makes himself available in any situation with his constant awareness and nose for the ball.

Can the Knights win a SCISA Class 3A Championship this season?

Hawks Defeat Eagles:

The Greenwood Christian Hawks came away with a big win over Hilton Head Christian to advance to the semifinals. The Hawks have a very guard-oriented roster won 72-66 today. Senior Lee Dahlberg led the way with 23 points while also scoring his 1,000-career point in return. [player_tooltip player_id='1806908' first='Ty' last='Kennedy'] added 21 points while freshman guard [player_tooltip player_id='1806931' first='Isaiah' last='Scott']-Palacios chipped in with 14 points. Skinner a crafty point guard finished with 29 points for the Eagles. Harrison scored 27 points in the second half with most of them coming at the cup. Senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='1571363' first='Elijah' last='White'] finished his career with 15 points in loss. Freshman [player_tooltip player_id='1960139' first='Ethan' last='Foster'] added 7 points and [player_tooltip player_id='1306547' first='Dylan' last='Sampson'] also added 7 points in the defeat. Junior guard [player_tooltip player_id='1032754' first='Brayden' last='Hendrix'] finished with 32 points tonight. Hendrix plays the game with plenty of swagger and confidence and tonight it showed just that.
