This entertaining, back and forth contest was an instant classic. Skip ahead to the fourth quarter which began with the score tied at 39-39. The two teams continued to ride the see-saw for the entire final stanza.
Then with just seconds remaining in the game, guard Brady O’Donnell drove to the rack. When he got into the paint, the help defense made its move towards him. So, O’Donnell dropped a smooth pass to Max Lebisky Max Lebisky 6'5" | SF Phoenixville | 2024 State PA in the dunker spot for the game winning lay-in (54-52) with less than two seconds remaining. The beautifully executed bucket gave Phoenixville the 2023-24 PAC Tournament title.
Below is a review of the college prospects who impressed during Phoenixville’s win over Spring Ford.
Spring Ford
EJ Campbell EJ Campbell 6'0" | CG Spring Ford | 2024 State PA – 6’1” / 2024 / K-Low Elite / Combo Guard: Campbell is a multi-skilled combo-guard who has developed into an outstanding primary ballhandler for SF. He used his elusive handles and blow by speed to get into the paint to score or distribute. He can also pop 3s from all over the court. Wednesday night he took over the game from the end of the 2Q into the 3Q by scoring 9 straight points for SF. Campbell also drained two clutch FTs to tie the game at 52-52 in the final seconds. He totaled 19 points on the night.
Tommy Kelly Tommy Kelly 6'4" | SF Spring Ford | 2025 State PA – 6’5” / 2025 / Philly Pride UAA / Small Forward: It was a quiet scoring night for Kelly (4 points), but there is no denying his “glue guy” role for SF. He is athletic, long and owns a high IQ. Plus, he does all the dirty work for the Rams.
Jacob Nguyen Jacob Nguyen 6'3" | SG Spring Ford | 2025 State PA – 6’3” / 2025 / Philly Pride UAA / Shooting Guard: Nguyen (26 points) scored early and often in this contest. He drained logo distance threes and scored off dribble drives as well as cuts to the rim. Still, what really caught our attention was his ability to post up vs. smaller defenders. In one instance he took two back-down dribbles, then scored over his man via a Luka Doncic-ish fadeaway jumper. Nguyen cracked the 1,000-point career scoring mark last night too. He already holds several DI offers.
Oben Mokonchu Oben Mokonchu 6'6" | C Spring Ford | 2026 State PA – 6’4″ / 2026 / East Coast Power / Small Forward: Mokonchu (1 point) is a solid athlete with size, a sturdy frame, and decent offensive instincts. He a beast on the glass at both ends and an underrated passer. Mokonchu has serious upside and next season he should be a major factor for SF on offense.
Phoenixville
Deacon Baratta Deacon Baratta 6'6" | SF Phoenixville | 2025 State PA – 6’5” / 2025 / East Coast Power / Wing: It was a quiet night for the usually lethal Baratta (4 pts.) as SF was extremely dedicated to limiting his open looks. However, he did display a high IQ and playmaking skills at both ends. One of his buckets came via a smooth one-handed floater. Baratta rebounded the ball well too. He recently took an unofficial visit to Navy.
Dawson Brown Dawson Brown 6'1" | CG Phoenixville | 2026 State PA – 6’1” / 2026 / PMT Warriors / Combo Guard: Over the last three weeks Brown has taken his game to another level. He posted 18 points (2 triples) last night and once again proved that he has expanded his skill set beyond that of a “3 & D” prospect. Brown has the dribbling skills and instincts to run as primary ball handler who can create off the bounce for himself or teammates. He is an underappreciated defensive presence too.
Max Lebisky Max Lebisky 6'5" | SF Phoenixville | 2024 State PA – 6’5” / 2024 / Eastern PA Elite / Wing: With his size, wingspan, high IQ, shooting touch and bully ball skills, Lebisky is extraordinarily difficult to guard. His versatility is next level. He can burn as a point-forward, a stretch-4 or a traditional power forward. All his skills were on display last night as he racked up 17 points including the game winner. Lebisky recently picked up an offer from West Chester University (D2).
Aidan McClintock – 6’6” / 2024 / Small Forward: McClintock has been a steady contributor all season for the Phantoms and last night was no different. He is a hardnosed prospect who cleaned the glass and played tenacious defense. McClintock (5 pts.) also scored in the mid-range as well as the paint.
Brady O’Donnell – 5’9” / 2025 / Combo Guard: Even before he dropped the game winning dime to Lebisky, O’Donnell had impressed us with his handles, high IQ and smooth 3-point stroke. He scored 5 points on the night. All of them came in the 4th quarter.
