For the last two years, Kelly has been a starter and extraordinary “glue guy” for a Spring Ford program that won 47 games, captured the 2023-24 PAC title, and made back-to-back trips to the 5A state tournament. A few days ago, this multi-skilled small forward committed to Lock Haven University (D2).

Spring Ford’s “glue guy” did an incredible job in this contest of competing at both ends against the much larger Judge front line. Kelly (9 points) crashed the offensive glass for put backs and popped a mid-range jumper or two. At the other end of the floor, Kelly’s positioning skills and non-stop motor led to numerous defensive rebounds.

Spring Ford’s fantastic “glue guy” did a tremendous job of capitalizing on the scoring opportunities presented to him in this game. Kelly scored an efficient 15 points and grabbed 8 rebounds (unofficially) in SF’s victory. When Central Dauphin doubled SF’s Jacob Nguyen Jacob Nguyen 6'3" | SG Spring-Ford | 2025 State PA , Kelly did a tremendous job of finding open space to receive a pass and then attacking his match-up. Additionally, the athletic and long Kelly popped a mid-range jumper or two. He also cleaned the glass at both ends.

On Tuesday night Spring Ford’s dynamic shooting guard Jacob Nguyen Jacob Nguyen 6'3" | SG Spring-Ford | 2025 State PA was sidelined with the flu. Thus, Kelly became the No. 1 option for SF in their District 1-6A playback game against Cheltenham. To say Kelly delivered is an understatement. Kelly stuffed the stat book with a triple double of 16 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists in SF’s win. Kelly repeatedly scored from the mid-range and in close. College coaches will love how Kelly attacked the rack off the dribble from the elbows. On the fast break, Kelly displayed solid end-to-end speed and can finished through contact. At times Kelly operated as a point-forward and distributed to cutting teammates or executed kick out passes to open shooters along the arc.

For the last two years Kelly has been a “glue guy” starter who played a key part in Spring Ford’s historic success. But thanks to graduation and transfers, in 2024-25 Kelly will now be thrust into the role of No. 2 option. Good news, Kelly has the athleticism, skills, length, and high IQ to handle that promotion. Kelly can produce points on post ups, dives to the rim and via the offensive glass. He will also catch opponents by surprise with his ability to attack the cup off one or two dribbles from the elbows. Kelly’s non-stop off ball movement and court awareness often lead to easy buckets for him. He owns decent speed and can finish through contact, so Kelly is a transition threat. Kelly will sprinkle in the occasional three ball. On defense Kelly is an underrated shot blocker.
