This week I viewed 10 games consisting of 5 varsity, 3 JV and 2 freshman games. The varsity games I viewed were on Monday I watched Rancho Solano Prep Mustangs defeat Phoenix Country Day Eagles 64-59. Tuesday I watched Mesa Jackrabbits defeat Mesa Mountain View Toros 44-38. Wednesday I viewed ALA Gilbert North Eagles defeating Eastmark Firebirds 60-57. Thursday I viewed West Point Dragons defeat Maricopa Rams 70-54 and finally Friday I viewed Desert Vista Thunder defeating Gilbert Tigers 63-58.

Here were the Freshmen Forward Standouts from the week

[player_tooltip player_id='2039513' first='DJ' last='Spencer'] Desert Vista

A high motored wing forward who is a phenomenal rebounder in heavy traffic. He is very hard to keep off the glass as an out of area rebounder. He will score on put backs and advanced footwork with his dominant left hand. He is a very good passer and the southpaw can crossover to give him a step on his defender to the basket.

[player_tooltip player_id='2339783' first='Robert' last='Morris IV'] Desert Vista

A hyper athletic wing forward is a downhill attacker with a very quick first step. He can fall away in the post with good footwork and shoot the three off the catch with confidence. He leaps up very quickly to score. He is phenomenal on the break, he is a sneaky good passer and will block shots with his bounce and motor. He scored 31 points on JV and played on varsity.

[player_tooltip player_id='2149107' first='Sire' last='Saul'] Mesa Mountain View (Pictured)

A wing forward with decent size who is very skilled. He can euro step down the lane and score it with counter moves and can fall away in the post impressively. His three point shooting will give him the chance to get PT on varsity next year as he can rattle them off.

[player_tooltip player_id='2337274' first='Brig' last='Bowden'] Mesa

A highly skilled power forward rebounds and blocks shots in bunches. He grabs out of area rebounds and keeps the ball high. He scores with multiple counter moves in the post, catches lobs and has a beautiful stroke from the line. He can even step out to the perimeter. He is also a good passer out of the double team.

[player_tooltip player_id='2337275' first='Thomas' last='Moritz'] Mesa

A unique point forward type. He can euro down the lane with a nice handle, he will block shots, he is good in the passing lanes and rebounds. He cuts often playing off the ball smartly and can handle the contact. He will post up and go to work and shoot it from the perimeter.

[player_tooltip player_id='2337138' first='Jadd' last='Agha'] Phoenix Country Day

A bigger wing freshman can score on put backs around the rim but this forward has a pure stroke from the three point line. He has one of those shots that look good every attempt. He will be more of a factor and focal point on next years team and be one to track.

[player_tooltip player_id='2339784' first='Wyatt' last='Packer'] Gilbert

A high motored power forward rebounds at a high level in and out of his area with long arms and broad shoulders. He times the ball well to block shots. He will corral the ball, outlet and sprint the floor. He will shoot it from mid-range and score on put backs.

[player_tooltip player_id='2339787' first='Ryan' last='Eggerling'] Gilbert

A good sized power forward for the class rebounds at a high level and boxes his man out like you should. He scores on layups with his right or left hand and blocks shots in and out of his area with his brawn and size.

[player_tooltip player_id='2339788' first='Lucas' last='Melero'] Desert Vista

A wing forward who can score. The lefty can get downhill with a nice handle and shoots it from mid-range. He can quicken up his shooting release but makes his shots at a good clip. His size and length at the position bothers his opponents on both sides of the court and moves well to defend.
