Quincy was expected by many to be here. They have a strong junior class and have won 30+ games this season. Belleville West on the other hand got to this point following a buzzer beater and late game heroics in previous rounds. They were hot and had momentum. When it was all said and done, however, Quincy won in convincing fashion. A statement win. Here are 3 takeaways!
2025 Bradley Longcor Bradley Longcor 6'3" | PG Quincy | 2025 State #337 Nation IL shines.
Longcor was in control of this game from start to finish. His poise, shot making out to three, and leadership were on full display. The junior guard finished with 28 points and had a number of key assists throughout the course of the game. He seemingly couldn’t miss from the three point line and this improved shooting unlocks more potential in him as a prospect. He has always been a high IQ player that enjoys getting others involved. Added scoring is what it’ll take for the Blue Devils to win state. Longcor is a player that never stops getting better and has a mid-to-high major feel to him as a prospect. He’s their undisputed leader.
Quincy role players make major contributions.
Coach Douglas has a ton of trust in his glue guys, supporting cast, and bench. Everybody plays a vital role on this team. Dominique Clay Dominique Clay 6'4" | SF Quincy | 2025 State IL is a player who scored in double figures, many of which came in the 2nd half. He’s a spark plug that will make the corner three, jump passing lanes, and showcase burst in the open floor. Keshaun Thomas Keshaun Thomas 6'5" | PF Quincy | 2025 State IL was very productive on the interior. He continued to win his post-ups with drop steps, head fakes, and using the glass to protect against shot blockers. A smart player who has tons of tricks to score around the rim. Ralph Wires Ralph Wires 5'9" | PG Quincy | 2024 State IL was key in the 1st half. He pressured the ball, forced turnovers, and made two big shots from beyond the arc. The lefty is a smooth guard that takes pride on the defensive end of the floor. His brother Kamren also made a number of key plays.
Belleville West guard shows potential.
2026 guard Nick Hankins Jr. is a player who showcased some solid ability + potential in this game. He was the hero that made a game winning shot in the opening round. An explosive lefty that can get all the way to the rim, play great defense, and contribute on the defensive glass. He shows flashes of being the guy in this program moving forward. At 6’1 his athletic ability is very impressive. He has a second gear with the ball in transition. Look out for this emerging prospect that averaged 9.4 PPG as a sophomore.
