#10 | Omari Witherspoon Omari Witherspoon 6'4" | CG St. John's | 2025 State MD | Previous Rank: #20
Witherspoon deserves a lot of credit for how well #7 St. John’s has played so far this season. He is a star player who embraces the challenge of defending the opposing team’s best player while also having the confidence to take and make shots in high-leverage spots offensively. An All-Met first-team nod is all but a lock at this point.
#11 | Akbar Waheed III Akbar Waheed III 6'6" | SF Georgetown Prep | 2025 State MD | Previous Rank: #25
Waheed has been a difference-maker on both sides of the ball this season for the Hoyas. His presence has been key to Georgetown Prep’s success.
#24 | Josiah Massaquoi Josiah Massaquoi 6'5" | PF Jackson-Reed | 2025 State MD | Previous Rank: #53
Massaquoi has been one of the more reliable options for the Tigers throughout the season so far. He looks to be in better shape today than in the past and is feasting as a result.
#39 | Marlon Williams Marlon Williams 5'10" | CG Loyola Blakefield | 2025 State MD | Previous Rank: #63
Williams is a broad-shouldered traditional point guard with long arms. He is an unbelievably stingy defender on the ball whose jump shot looks good coming off his hands. Williams runs ball screens efficiently, can pass with either hand and doesn’t force.
#42 | Jermaine Drakes Jr. Jermaine Drakes Jr. 6'4" | SF Landon | 2025 State MD | Previous Rank: #95
Drakes has become an important two-way player for the Bears. He is a good outside shooter who can be disruptive defensively in part because of his length.
#61 | Pete Newman Pete Newman 6'3" | CG St. John's | 2025 State MD | Previous Rank: #73
Newman has always been a good offensive player, but his defense has improved significantly. He is playing with great effort on that end of the floor. Newman led SJC with 5 steals when they won recently at O’Connell.
#74 | Caleb Gillus Caleb Gillus 6'1" | PG Sidwell Friends | 2025 State MD | Previous Rank: #99
Gillus is a playmaker who energizes the team in a variety of ways. He will go and get the ball off the boards regularly from his position and quickly push it in transition. Gillus shows no fear when attacking the rim and seeks contact on his drives. He’s also a pesky on-ball defender who can draw charges.
