This talented frosh is the second-leading scorer for the 13-7 Eagles. Teelan is averaging 12.2 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 2.1 apg, 2 spg, and shooting 49 eFG%. Kjerstad is having a huge season, he plays 25+ minutes per varsity contest, is skilled/smart, and he plays with great drive. Teelan has had multiple 20+ point games and his season high is 28 points while shooting 6/11 from 3 and 11/19 FG’s. Kjerstad can score from all levels. He is an exciting Class B guard to keep track of.
Dawsen Volmer Dawsen Volmer 6'1" | PG Lyman | 2027 State SD |6’1 G| Lyman
Dawsen has had a very good year for Lyman, he has started every game as a freshman. Volmer’s game and leadership have grown consistently over the course of the basketball season. Dawsen has led the Raiders several times in scoring and rebounding. He has also had some splashy scoring games that you do not see too often from 9th graders. Volmer has been an instrumental part of the Raiders and they have high expectations for this young baller!
Boden Stevenson Boden Stevenson 6'2" | SG Hamlin | 2027 State SD |6’2 G| Hamlin
He plays for one of the top programs in South Dakota and is coached by one of the best. Stevenson has an athletic lineage and he is a future looks bright. If he was on a different team, Boden would be getting more varsity burn but the Chargers are stacked with talent. There is no doubt that the young Stevenson is getting better going against that elite talent in practice every day. Boden is athletic, skilled, can score from multiple angles/levels, and he is an all-around player. Boden had a very good JV season, he improved his mobility & strength. He proved that he can score from all three levels.
Jesse Zephier Jesse Zephier 5'10" | PG Wagner | 2027 State SD |5’11 G| Wagner
Zephier has had a good year, he starts for the Red Raider varsity team at the point guard position. Jesse is a scorer and he takes care of the ball well. Like all young players, he still has a lot to learn on the defensive side of the ball but he has a ton of potential and is going to be a great player. Jesse is a student of the game with sharp skills and a nice shot. He stirs the drink for the Red Raiders offense and I like how he moves on the court. Zephier has leigt potential as a floor general.
Kamden Keszler Kamden Keszler 6'2" | SG Castlewood | 2027 State SD |6’2 G| Castlewood
He plays in a great program and big things are ahead for Keszler. This young Warrior can score the rock from all levels on the floor. He has proven himself as a leader for the JV team and he gets spot minutes on varsity. Kamden is versatile on defense with the potential to be lockdown in the future. He is a quality athlete who is learning what it takes to win games. This kid is intriguing, that’s for sure! It looks like the Warriors have more talent coming up the pipeline!
Bo Begeman Bo Begeman 6'4" | SF Clark/Willow Lake | 2027 State SD |6’4 SF| Clark/Willow Lake
Begeman has had a great season for the Cyclones and has started 19 games. Bo is averaging 8.4 ppg. He has scored in double-digits 7 times and his game-high is 20, he did that against Milbank. Begeman has shot 30% from the 3-point arc, he has scary potential from long-range. He has great length being 6’4″ already and is just starting to grow! Bo has a high basketball IQ, and he can score in multiple ways. Begeman has improved his ability to score off the dribble this season. He is becoming a mismatch problem for opposing teams.
Gavin Shawd Gavin Shawd 6'0" | SG Tea Area | 2027 State SD |5’11 G| Tea Area
Shawd has had a tremendous season for the Titans. He averaged 20 ppg on the “C” team & about 7 ppg on the JV in only about 8 minutes per game. Gavin is very skilled offensively, shooting over 40% from 3, but also flashed the toughness that is the staple of the Tea Titan basketball program. He will be a key member of the Titan program for the next 3 seasons.
Dezman Wilka Dezman Wilka 6'2" | SF Sioux Falls Washington | 2027 State SD |6’2 SF| Sioux Falls Washington
Wilka is a serious athlete with exciting potential. He runs the floor well and has impressive strength. He has good size as a frosh, it will be interesting to see if he grows more. Dez is a productive rebounder and he is not afraid to body-up on defense. He plays hard, can step out & hit the jumper, and he makes plays off the bounce. This young Warrior has potential.
Eddie Duffy Eddie Duffy 5'11" | SG Stanley County | 2027 State SD |5’11 G| Stanley County
A long/lanky 5’11” 9th grader who starts for the Buffaloes. Duffy looks to have smooth shooting mechanics and he hits from three-point land. When I have watched Duffy play he looked like a hustler and he was not afraid to dive on the floor for a loose ball. You can tell that he is a shooter, Stanley ran sets and BLOBS for him. That is a good sign when Duffy is just a frosh. He can also produce, Eddie’s shooting range goes well beyond the high school arc. Keep track of this Buffalo!
Chace Hermanson Chace Hermanson 6'0" | SG O'Gorman | 2027 SD |6’0 G| O’Gorman
He played for the Knights sophomore team, Hermanson had a very nice season. Chace was not intimidated on either side of the ball while playing up against older/bigger players. Hermanson has a great jump shot from mid-range, can drill the triple, score in the paint, and is an extremely coachable player. He is a good on-ball defender with quick lateral feet. The OG staff is excited about Hermanson.
Titus Kippley Titus Kippley 6'1" | PF Leola/Frederick | 2027 State SD |6’1 SF| Leola-Frederick Area
The Titans are 19-1 on the season and they are flush with talent. The young Kippley has not played much varsity but when he gets the opportunity he steps right in and fits in well with the older players. Look for Titus to be an impact player next season. Kippley is tough and speedy. He competes on the block, is physical boxing out & at attacking rebounds. Titus can defend on the perimeter and down low. He is always competitive, does the little things, and has a bright future in hoops.
Kale Knudson Kale Knudson 6'0" | CG Mobridge-Pollock | 2027 State SD |6’0 G| Mobridge-Pollock
Kale leads MOPO’s Varsity in VPS, FG%, deflections, steals, and FT%. Knudson averages 9.3 ppg, is second in rebounding, and has started all but two games for the Tigers. Kale’s strengths are his quickness on offense & defense. He plays team basketball, has improved tremendously with confidence, and his play-making ability has upgraded. Kale is also regularly asked to guard the opponent’s top athlete. Knudson is an exciting up-n-comer to keep eyes on.
Easton Eisemann Easton Eisemann 5'11" | CG Mobridge-Pollock | 2027 State SD |5’11 G| Mobridge-Pollock
Easton played JV most of the year with limited quarters. He has really improved in the second half of the season in both JV and Varsity. In the last 5 Varsity games, Easton is averaging 15 minutes a game. Eisemann is one of the top Tiger athletes. He has really improved his 3-point shooting in the last month. His strengths are driving/slashing and shooting the triple. Easton is also good at defending the drive. He is aggressive and has great anticiapation skills. Eisemann & Knudson will make a scary backcourt for the next 3 years.
