In the following days, there will be numerous breakdowns of prospects ranging from High-Major Division 1 talents to junior college prospects under a bevy of categories. In our final segment, we look at a group of players that always bring it at the ends of the floor. Coaches want consistency and this collection of prospects always have the proper mindset to lead their teams to success.

[player_tooltip player_id='1896210' first='Isaiah' last='Johnson'] (Campbell Hall)

2025, 6-foot-1, 155 pounds

Joel's take: Johnson is a slick left-handed combo guard who can swing between the 1 and the 2. He is more of a scorer than a facilitator, but he does have savvy for this game. he can break his defender off the dribble and slash his way to the rim or launch a 3-pointer. His release is quick and tight on his jump shot and he's equally effective off the catch as he is off the dribble.

Connor Amundson (Clovis North)

2024, PG, 5-foot-10, 155 pounds

Joel's take: Amundson has a slight frame, but he has moxie and skill. He has a slick crossover dribble and can get in the lane for the floater or kick it out to an open shooter. He has a nice burst off the dribble as well and he has the savvy to change speeds to keep defenders honest. His shot is quick and impeccable off the dribble and he doesn't need a lot of space. A true gamer.

[player_tooltip player_id='1630683' first='Julien' last='Gomez'] (La Mirada)

2025, CG, 6-foot-2, 165 pounds

Joel's take: With freshman phenom Gene Roebuck already possessing that "alpha male" mentality, Gomez has had to become more of a well-rounded guard. He could always score and is still doing it in his junior campaign, but now he evolving into a complete guard who can command the offense. His decision-making is quite good and he knows when it's "go-time" to get his points. He can knock in the 3, toss in a runner, or nail a mid-range jump shot and he's doing in this an efficient manner as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='1253223' first='De'Undrae' last='Perteete'] (Salesian College Prep)

2024, SG, 6-foot-5, 180 pounds

Joel's Take: Perteete is a strong well-rounded guard who impacts the game in a variety of ways. He'll hit the glass, get out in transition, or knock down the 3-pointer. He can face-up his defender and get to the rim and he is always in attack mode. Defensively, he has the length, strength, and mindset to get after opposing guards and forwards.

Issac Williamson (Eastvale Roosevelt)

2025, CG, 6-foot-1, 160 pounds

Joel's Take: One of the unsung players in Roosevelt's championship run was Williamson. Elite junior [player_tooltip player_id='1630617' first='Brayden' last='Burries'] and senior standout [player_tooltip player_id='1502796' first='Darnez' last='Slater'] get most of the notoriety, but Williamson had several important plays, including a clutch 3 in the championship against St. John Bosco. The slashing guard attacks well off the dribble, can nail the runner, or knock in the deep jump shot and his release is tight.
