Sommerville Dominant Again

The 6'10 Rutgers commit, [player_tooltip player_id='1978576' first='Lathan' last='Sommerville'], has had a monster senior season back in Illinois and that continued Tuesday night. He finished with a stat line of 28 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 blocks. His unique combination of size and skill makes it tough for any opponent to stop him, especially vs an undersized guard heavy Manual lineup. Lathan was also efficient from the free throw line where he went 11-14 in total.

Unsigned Richwoods Seniors Shine

The four other senior starters contributed across the board for the Knights as a great compliment to Sommerville's superb play inside the paint. Combo guard [player_tooltip player_id='1598683' first='Daquan' last='Little'] provided a nice offensive park posting 14 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists including 4 threes. Wing guard [player_tooltip player_id='2104980' first='Jared' last='Jackson'] showcased his versatility on both ends of the floor once again on his way to 10 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists. Jackson is a great athlete who excels finishing at and above the rim. [player_tooltip player_id='1978599' first='Tavie' last='Smith'] did not have his biggest night in terms of scoring output but rather excelled as a facilitator finding open shots for teammates. He finished with 5 points, 5 rebounds, and 6 assists. Three point specialist Nick Louderman also hit a pair of threes and added 2 rebounds and 2 assists for Richwoods.

Balanced Manual Attack Falls Short

The Rams stuck around most of the game but never quite got over the hump vs a tough Richwoods defense anchored by Sommerville down low. 6'4 Jr Terrance Paige led the way for Manual, tallying 10 points 4 rebounds and 2 assists as he found gaps in the defense to get his shots up. Star junior guard [player_tooltip player_id='1576114' first='Dietrich' last='Richardson'] was rather quiet in this game but still found a way to contribute on both sides of the ball. He finished with 8 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 blocks. Richardson is an intriguing prospect who will be featured in the top 10 of the next PHI 2025 rankings. Junior wing forward [player_tooltip player_id='2321406' first='Amare' last='Breedlove'] also had 8 points and 4 rebounds, showing flashes with his length and athleticism.
