Mehki Brown – 2026 – PG – Monroe
Like the way Brown runs the team and handles the point guard position. Think in time, he’ll be more of a scorer, but Monroe has three double-figure scorers on its roster. Still, Brown had 10 of his 12 points in the first half to help keep the game somewhat close, ending the opening period with a 3-pointer at the buzzer. Brown is a skilled, shifty lead guard who can make defenders miss, even in the halfcourt. He was able to break down defenders and either get his own offense or draw the help and make plays for others. Averaging nine points and two assists per game as a sophomore, Brown wasn’t bothered by pressure, rarely got sped up, was also assigned to Mount Horeb’s best player for a large portion of the game.
Zach Maguire Zach Maguire 6'3" | SG Mount Horeb | 2025 State WI – 2025 – SG – Mount Horeb
Maguire is the third scorer for the Vikings, which is scary, because he can also get really hot. The 6-foot-1 junior is a sweet-shooting guard that can fill it up from 3-point range. Maguire plays really well off dribble penetration and makes himself available on the perimeter when his teammates can’t get all the way to the rim. It just feels like every time that ball is popping around the perimeter in an extended possession, it ended up in Maguire’s hands for a 3-pointer. Averaging 10 points per game this season, Maguire is also shooting around 42 percent from deep.
Josh Manchester Josh Manchester 6'4" | PG Mount Horeb | 2026 State WI – 2026 – G – Mount Horeb
Monroe ended up throwing multiple defenders at Manchester…it didn’t really matter. Despite sitting the last 10 minutes, Manchester still finished with 21 points in a blowout win. A deadly 3-point shooter, who’s vastly improved pulling off the dribble while also extending his range, Manchester makes defenders pay if they don’t stay glued and keep a hand up on him. With high major schools eyeing Manchester right now, he’s gotta improve his strength, athleticism, and speed on the ball, but the 6-foot-2 guard does have some deceptive blow-by ability. Also like his skills as a post scorer, something you don’t see from a lot of guards, especially underclassmen. Mount Horeb can put Manchester down on the block and in the high post and he’ll alleviate the pressure he feels from multiple defenders by scoring with a fall away jumper or facing up and attacking.
James Seagreaves James Seagreaves 6'5" | SF Monroe | 2024 State WI – 2024 – SF – Monroe
Seagreaves didn’t really get going until late, but you can see the talent and upside here. Mount Horeb did a good job of being physical with him, perhaps too physical at times, and forced the 6-foot-5 senior to play away from the rim, but when Seagreaves was able to break through, he was effective. A strong, athletic kid who loves to size up his defenders and put pressure on the defense by going through them to the rim, Seagreaves finished with 16 points in Saturday’s loss. Seagreaves showed some eye-opening leaping ability as well, exploding off the ground for a one-hand slam on an out of bounds play. Might not be a big scorer at the next level, but Seagreaves has a lot of value. He’s got positional versatility on defense, serves as an extra ball handler for the Cheesemakers, and can make momentum-changing plays with his athletic ability.
Nick Vorwald Nick Vorwald 6'4" | SG Mount Horeb | 2024 State WI – 2024 – SG – Mount Horeb
If I’m a small college program looking for a two-guard still, I’m checking this kid out. Vorwald is quietly having a really nice senior season and getting better by the week seemingly. Scoring a game-high 22 points, Vorwald shows the ability to put the ball in the hole from almost anywhere on the floor. He’s a really good catch-and-shoot guard who couples it with a pull-up mid-range game and also possesses some sneaky athleticism to score amongst the trees. Vorwald is also a two-way player. He’s had a couple of steals in both games I’ve attended this season and anticipates in the passing lanes exceptionally well. Unranked right now, I definitely see Vorwald in the top 100 in the next rankings update given his all-around scoring ability and positional size at 6-foot-4.
