It is time to recap this week and look at what our exciting prospects did. Here are the player evaluations from a few of the prospects that I saw in Week 8 of the 2023-24 season.
Park Tudor vs North Central (1/10)
At 6’0, Williams was one of the guards in this game with the most speed on the ball. Was really good about shifting his way through the defense and either finding the cutter or getting a tough finish around the rim. Was a smart guard when it comes to be on the ball and knowing what options he has. Plays really well paired with Rivera in the backcourt. He finished with 8 pts.
Bell is a 6’3 guard that has the skills of almost over position on the floor. His versatility is what makes him stand out as he is a guy that can play on or off the ball in post the post or wing. He is a physical player as well and is not afraid to go at the defense and score with the contact. He plays like mature senior, which is why he was the leading scorer for the Panthers in the win with 18 pts.
Highlights
There may not be a guard in the in-state 2025 class that will make you think a shot is going in every single time he shoots. Started off the game extremely hot hitting his first three shots from behind the arc which really set the tone for North Central. Thought his defense was pretty spot on as well as his court vision. He takes on a good leadership role that I saw and is good about communicating with his teammates. He finished with 11 pts.
Man, Horvath was on another level this game. Scored in pretty much all areas on the floor and was doing it with such confidence and intensity. There were times where I felt he was a little out of control and forcing a little, but when you score 20 pts it is hard to find much wrong with the way he was getting things done. Not ever going to be the biggest player on the floor, but could always be the toughest.
Mark was one of the players in this game with some of the biggest upside. Real bouncy, athletic guard that can make plays off his shiftiness. Has some real high elevation on his jumper and does not need much space to get a shot off. Liked his ability to take over the game a moment’s notice. He finished with 19 pts.
