JP has been an x-factor for Breck so far this season and has played his role perfectly. In the two games I saw, he was great at knocking down triples off the catch, as the Breck guards do a lot of driving and kicking. The sophomore wing was also a beast on the boards, especially on offense, using his length and athleticism to high point rebounds. He was effective when making cuts to the basket for easy scores as well. Musoke scored a team-high 21 points in the ranked win over Hopkins.
Greyson has had an excellent start to his senior season and has helped lead Minnetonka to a 6-1 record and a top five ranking in class AAAA. In the win over BSM, he was flying around making impactful plays on both sides of the ball. He scored 26 points, finding success from inside and outside. He was automatic when shooting off the catch and looked good when working in transition, which is a large part of the fast paced Minnetonka offense.
Highlights
In the matchup with #2 Park Center, the freshman guard showed no fear, going right at one of the best defenses in the state. Isaiah tallied a team-high 18 points, scoring in a variety of ways. Despite being the smallest player on the floor for most of the game, he attacked the rim hard and converted on some impressive layups and floaters over block attempts. He can also play on the perimeter, as he showed he was able to knock down a three-pointer.
Daniel turned in a pair of super solid performances at Augsburg, leading Breck to a perfect 3-0 record at the event. He is a do-it-all kind of player and can take over a game in so many different ways. His passing vision was on full display, feeding his forwards inside for layups or his shooters for open looks on the perimeter. He was scoring from all three levels, pulling up from beyond the arc or in the mid-range, as well as getting to the basket for dunks or tough finishes in traffic.

JJ has put the state on notice so far this season after a great club season. He is currently averaging 18.7 points per game, including a 28 point scoring performance in a win over Osseo at Augsburg. His game is so smooth and he is so hard to guard with the versatility he possesses at his size. He was knocking down tough pull-up looks in the mid-range, shooting right over his defender. He can also get to the basket, then hang in the air for a tough contested finish where he is usually fouled.
Highlights
Chiang continues to impress me as a scorer and as a defensive presence inside. He was sending shots back whenever an opponent tried to shoot over him and was dominant with his rebounding as well. Offensively, he can play inside, catching passes for easy dunks, but he can also create for himself on the perimeter. He can spot up and shoot off the catch or go to work using the dribble when matched up with a smaller defender, eventually connecting with a hook or fadeaway.
Jayden scored 28 points in the win over Minnehaha and also had a nice game in the tight loss to Breck. He looked great when playing at full speed, as he can catch a rebound then push it up the floor in a flash to get a break started. He was knocking down shots from beyond the arc and getting downhill for tough finishes through the defense. He was finding success working out of the pick & roll as well, seeming to make the correct play every time.
Highlights
Miles has been the swiss army knife for Breck so far this season, as he can do anything asked of him. He can play guard, wing, or forward and can match up defensively with anyone. He has a strong 6’4” frame and is an exceptional athlete. He can use that athleticism to make a difference on the boards or with his defense inside. He is also automatic when shooting off the catch from three and can pump fake to get around his defender for a finish at the rim.
Highlights
The Osseo offense runs through De’Mari and most of the scores they get are either shot or assisted by him. He played well when working in the pick & roll and can burst to the rim for a finish or dish it off to a teammate for a better look. I was also impressed when he was using his speed in transition. He could grab a rebound then hit a different gear to sprint down the floor for a full speed layup. Larkins also plays hard on the defensive end, sometimes picking up at full or half court.
Fitta had a great game in the tight loss to Hopkins, almost leading his team to th upset victory. He did most of his scoring damage off the catch from behind the three-point line. He was able to get shots off with a minimal contest with his quick release, not allowing defenders to get a proper close out. He was on fire in the first half and had some important plays down the stretch as well. Jafar plays hard and can take over a game in a flash.
