Tuesday: [player_tooltip player_id='1607417' first='Payton' last='Moore'] (Elkhorn) vs [player_tooltip player_id='2045301' first='Vaughn' last='Karvala'] (Oregon)

3-0 Elkhorn travels to take on 1-2 Oregon on Tuesday night, and the matchup to watch will be on the wing. [player_tooltip player_id='1607417' first='Payton' last='Moore'] started to emerge last season as a junior, as he's a 6'4 2024 wing with some length and skill. Has the ability to put it on the floor and attack the basket while also showing some range beyond the arc. He's coming off of a 30 point performance in a win over Monroe. Oregon has struggled early on, but have one of the more promising 2026 prospects in the state in [player_tooltip player_id='2045301' first='Vaughn' last='Karvala']. He's a long and athletic wing who can finish above the rim with ease and create his own shots off the dribble. Despite some three point struggles this season, his ability to get to the rim has him averaging 26.7 ppg through three games. Made some key plays down the stretch in a win over Fort Atkinson.

Wednesday: [player_tooltip player_id='1289089' first='Carsen' last='Eeg'] (The Prairie School) vs [player_tooltip player_id='1959723' first='Lamont' last='Hamilton'] (Racine St. Catherine's)

There will be talent at a number of spots in this matchup, but the point guard battle should be an intriguing one. St. Cat's dropped their first two games to some talented teams despite a 32 ppg average from Lamont. Teams have known he's the main option for this team, but he's so athletic and physical getting to the rim that he's still been able to dominate games. He's also been shooting an impressive 11-17 from 3P to start the season. Carsen is in his third season of varsity basketball, and was already a team captain as a sophomore. He's a mature floor general who can facilitate, handle it under pressure, and stretch the floor from three. The lefty guard put up a career high 28 points in a win over Williams Bay last week, and is also averaging 4 apg in Prairie's 2-0 start. If he can help slow down Lamont, Prairie will have a good chance to snap their losing streak against St. Cats.

Thursday: [player_tooltip player_id='1182503' first='Connor' last='Roffers'] (Burlington) vs [player_tooltip player_id='1561889' first='Amare' last='Hereford'] (Beloit Memorial)

This will be Beloit Memorial's first SLC game, and they're coming up against a Burlington team looking to compete for a conference title. Both teams are 2-0 at the time I'm writing this, and feature some talented prospects. [player_tooltip player_id='1182503' first='Connor' last='Roffers'] is a potential conference POTY, as he has the size, shooting, and takeover ability to put a team on his back when needed. At 6'4 he's likely going to have a size or quickness advantage over anyone who's guarding him, so he could prove to be a difficult matchup. [player_tooltip player_id='1561889' first='Amare' last='Hereford'] has been dominant to start his sophomore season, scoring 22.5 ppg to start the year. He's an impressive athlete with blow by speed in transition and a handle that allows him to beat his man consistently off the dribble. Able to finish in a variety of ways when he gets to the basket.

Friday: [player_tooltip player_id='1203205' first='Nolan' last='Minessale'] (Marquette) vs [player_tooltip player_id='1142131' first='Jack' last='Daugherty'] (Brookfield Central)

Battle of D1 committed seniors as Marquette takes on Brookfield Central. Nolan went off for 36 points in his senior season opener to help lead his team to a win. The St. Thomas commit is one of the most athletic slashers in the state, able to beat his man on or off the ball to get to the rim and score. Brookfield Central has started 0-2 this season, but are still a team with plenty of talent. Daugherty moves well at 6'8 and has a jumper that allows him to stretch the floor and force opposing forwards to defend him on the perimeter. Two players that will be fighting for the conference POTY award.

Saturday: [player_tooltip player_id='2631608' first='Jaquarius' last='Bent'] (Milwaukee South) vs [player_tooltip player_id='2224532' first='Sam' last='Pitrof'] (Racine Lutheran)

Milwaukee South heads south to take on Racine Lutheran in a non-conference matchup on Saturday. Last week Bent absolutely erupted for 54 points to help lead South past Golda Meir. That included nine makes from beyond the arc, showing he's a true floor stretcher from deep. 6'1 2025 guard who broke out last year as a sophomore. [player_tooltip player_id='2224532' first='Sam' last='Pitrof'] leads a promising Racine Lutheran team this year. He recorded an 18 point and 10 rebound double-double in the season opener, and has his team sitting at 2-0. Pitrof is a three level scorer with good size and improved explosiveness at the guard spot. He's someone who's going to fill up the stat sheet as he can create for his teammates and is a dominant rebounder as a guard.
