It doesn't get much better than a rivalry game between two talented teams in a gym full of 3,500+ Indiana High School Basketball fans. I had boots on the ground at Lawrence Central High School on Wednesday evening as the bears played host to their rival Lawrence North who is ranked #1 in the Prep Hoops Indiana Class 4A poll. If you only watched the first and fourth quarters you would qualify this one as an easy win for the Wildcats, but what happened in between was incredibly exciting.

Lawrence North opened the game on a 14-0 run and appeared to be on their way to a blowout. The Bears could barely get the ball across half court as the Wildcats full court pressure forced turnover after turnover. [player_tooltip player_id='1158213' first='Kobi' last='Bowles'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1275769' first='Myles' last='Baker'] collected a handful of steals in that first period while LN's front court of [player_tooltip player_id='1729136' first='Brennan' last='Miller'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2252564' first='Kai' last='McGrew'] were on the receiving end of some easy buckets at the rim. However, that early 14-0 lead dwindled to a 22-13 advantage at the end of the first period as Lawrence Central found their footing. The Bears continued to hang around cutting into their deficit in the second quarter making it a 36-30 game at the halftime break.

Cordale Edwards was huge in the quarter as the Bears came back as well scoring all nine of his points in the period. The score was tied 54-54 heading into the final eight minutes.
