Heading into their sophomore year, this list is still new and while we did our best we know things will change a lot as players continue to grow and develop moving forward.
Here’s a look at part two of the point guards and combo guards in the rankings.
15) Khaliq Carson Khaliq Carson 6'0" | PG Bishop Ireton | 2026 State VA | 5’10” PG | Bishop Ireton (#37 Overall)
Carson is the type of point guard that coaches talk about all the time, as he has all the qualities you look for in a small guard that doesn’t need to score to impact the game. He is a tenacious defender who can get under ball handlers and guard them the length of the floor, he has a lot of toughness and can withstand physicality and he is shifty off the bounce and makes great decisions with the ball in his hands.
14) Daion Jones Daion Jones 6'0" | PG Varina | 2026 State VA | 6’0” PG | Varina (#36 Overall)
Jones is set to take the reigns at Varina next year, but he’ll play a very important role for them as their spark plug alongside some other talented upperclassmen in the backcourt. He’s a naturally gifted guard who has good burst and changes speeds well, he can score it in a number of different ways and is a very good finisher in traffic and he shows no fear and a competitive chip despite his young age.
13) Jordan Hunter Jordan Hunter 6'1" | PG Paul VI | 2026 State VA | 6’1” PG | Paul VI (#34 Overall)
Hunter gets overshadowed on this PVI team that has multiple guards that are nationally ranked, but don’t get it twisted he didn’t make varsity for their nationally ranked team as a freshman for no reason. The 6’1” point guard is a natural athlete with good speed in the open floor, he works well in the pick-and-roll with his ability to turn the corner and make plays and he is a good on ball defender as well.
12) Will Davis Will Davis 5'10" | CG Meridican | 2026 State VA | 5’10” CG | Meridian (#32 Overall)
When it comes to someone who showed tons of confidence as a freshman, Davis didn’t waiver at all as he put up big numbers in some games and was one of their more consistent scorers throughout the season. He is an excellent shooter from deep who can move off the ball and knows how to get open, he has a quick release and good range and he can attack closeouts and is a good finisher in the midrange with floaters and pull-ups.
11) Phenix Card Phenix Card 6'0" | CG Hayfield | 2026 State VA | 6’0” PG | Hayfield (#31 Overall)
Card will lead the new look Hawks who won back-to-back state championships, but lose their entire starting lineup from last year, but he’s learned from the best and looks ready for the task early in the season. He is a natural floor general who handles pressure well and gets his team into sets while making good decisions, he is shifty off the bounce and changes speeds well and he can drill it from deep and finish around the rim too.
10) Ty Harris Ty Harris 6'1" | PG Flint Hill | 2026 State VA | 6’1” PG | Flint Hill (#24 Overall)
Harris is a multisport star who already holds Power 5 offers in football and is a track star as well, and that athleticism is a big reason that he is so dominant on the basketball court too. The 6’1” point guard is a one man press break and an absolute blur in transition, he can create space off the bounce to get his shot off, he plays above the rim in transition and he’s an excellent defender with a lot of toughness to him as well.
9) Jemon Price Jemon Price 6'2" | CG Westfield | 2026 State VA | 6’1” CG | Westfield (#18 Overall)
Price is a transfer from Paul VI who joins a Westfield team that has a lot of young talent and will have one of the best backcourts in NOVA public school this year. He’s a strong guard who can play on or off the ball depending on the look, he has a great first step both with the ball in his hands and when he catches and rips, he gets downhill and is a good finisher in traffic and he can score it in isolation from all three levels.
8) Chris Morrison Chris Morrison 6'0" | PG West Potomac | 2026 State VA | 6’0” PG | West Potomac (#16 Overall)
Morrison was perhaps the best freshman in NOVA public schools last year, starting from day one for West Potomac and putting up big numbers throughout the season and even stepping up during the playoffs in ways you don’t see many freshman do. He’s a good athlete at the guard position who impacts the game on both ends of the floor, he can guard the other team’s best player and turn them over, he can knock down shots from deep off the catch and he lives in the paint as a playmaker and finisher.
7) Carmelo Swinson Carmelo Swinson 6'2" | CG Norcom | 2026 State VA | 6’2” CG | Norcom (#15 Overall)
When it comes to pure scorers, there aren’t many better in the 757 in any class than Swinson who was Norcom’s top scorer as a freshman and has continued to show he can do it against the best of the best. He’s already made strides in his game, improving his body to become quicker and more athletic and learning how he can create shots in isolation situations from all over the floor. He’s a true 3 level scorer who can create space and make tough shots from all over, he’s a strong finisher in traffic when he gets downhill and when he gets hot he can score it in bunches and take over games.
6) Styles Clemmons Styles Clemmons 6'2" | PG Princess Anne | 2026 State VA | 6’1” PG | Princess Anne (#11 Overall)
Clemmons would be a top 10 kid any other year and may still move into it as he continues to get better, but don’t get it twisted he’s a high major type of prospect who already has an impressive resume as he was Class 5A Region Player of the Year as just a freshman. He’s a natural scoring guard who is shifty off the bounce and has no problem getting in the paint where he can score it at the rim and in the midrange with floaters and pull-ups. He is dynamite in the pick-and-roll with his ability to turn the corner or isolate bigs on the switch, he can knock down tough shots in a number of different ways and he can make plays for others when the defense starts to focus on him too.
