The games began early in the morning with Mater Lakes (FL) vs St. Augustine (CA) and were followed up by marquee matchups including Corona Centennial (CA) vs Calvary Chapel (FL) and Branson (CA) vs St. Bernard (CA).
Jaden finished with 22 points, 6 threes, and several rebounds/assists on Monday morning in St. Augustine’s win over Mater Lakes (FL), 52-41. Bailes came out hot in this one with 14 points and 4 threes in the first half as he demonstrated his ability to create his own shot from 3 in addition to being a dangerous catch and shoot option. In the second half he showed his wider offensive game including smart cuts without the ball and confidently attacking the basket.
Bryson finished with 16 points and several rebounds/assists on Monday morning in Bishop O’Connell’s tough loss to Arbor View (NV), 52-50. Tucker excelled in the mid range and in close in this one as he utilized his strength and tight handle to get to his spots and rise up over smaller defenders.
Highlights
Pharaoh finished with 13 points and a bounty of rebounds/blocks in Arbor View’s competitive win over Bishop O’Connell (VA), 52-50. Compton provided a strong presence in the paint for Arbor View with his size and particularly his length as he was able to negatively effect and block several shots. His defensive and rebounding abilities combined with his length will allow him to contribute at the next level but he would do well to add more variety to his offensive game.
James finished with 22 points as well as several rebounds/steals in West Ranch’s win over Orem (UT), 67-49. Evans scored the ball from all 3 levels on Monday as he made strong dribble moves to get to the basket, to his spot in the midrange, and to draw contact in the paint to get to the free throw line (finished 6/6 FT’s).
Darrell finished with 17 points and a few assists/steals in West Ranch’s win over Orem (UT), 67-49. Morris, in typical fashion, was flying around making plays on both ends of the court on Monday and created a plethora of opportunities for himself and others with his unpredictable quick movement, court awareness, and unselfishness.
